Overview

Is a life without religion one without values or purpose? Julian Baggini emphatically says no. He sets out to dispel the myths surrounding atheism and to show how it can be both a meaningful and moral choice. He directly confronts the failure of officially atheist states in the twentieth century, and presents an intellectual case for atheism that rests as much on reasoned and positive arguments for its truth as on negative arguments against religion.

This book is spectacular. Not just because I am atheist myself either! This book gives 100% intelligent reasons why atheism is just as valid and important if not more so than any other religion in the world. It doesn't bash Christianity like some atheist books tend to do. This book simply shows how one can live a meaningful life (if not more meaningful than religious people's lives) being an atheist.

Flipped through this book at the book store and noticed the author defined atheism as the belief that a god does not exist. Didn't read any further for lack of research.
