Part 10

These seem to be the democratic features of his laws; but in addition, before the period of his legislation, he carried through his abolition of debts, and after it his increase in the standards of weights and measures, and of the currency. During his administration the measures were made larger than those of Pheidon, and the mina, which previously had a standard of seventy drachmas, was raised to the full hundred. The standard coin in earlier times was the two-drachma piece. He also made weights corresponding with the coinage, sixty-three minas going to the talent; and the odd three minas were distributed among the staters and the other values.

Part 11

When he had completed his organization of the constitution in the manner that has been described, he found himself beset by people coming to him and harassing him concerning his laws, criticizing here and questioning there, till, as he wished neither to alter what he had decided on nor yet to be an object of ill

    Cypher - All.

Ok so my da<_>mn tablet broke and I am currently unable to speak to you guys. I'm using a computer and will do my best to speak with anyone today if you want but Rayne you need to tell Max that I won't be on for a while. and if Sun ever gets back on then you know to tell her to go to our book. As for the rest of you, I hope you all have a great time while I'm gone. PS ~ Rayne, keep this place in order so that I have something to look forward to when I come back.

    I Also Recommend:

    the athenian constitution

the athenian constitution was very interesting as part of a study of the history of democracy as it unfolded in ancient greece. some may be disappointed that a morjority amoung 5000 was the penultimate achievement rather than a vote of the general population, yet i believe for it's time this was quite an achievement. the ebb and flow of democracy across centuries in ancient greece is chronicled along with brief descriptions of athens great leaders and their defining issues. my greatest disappointment with the book was it's brevity and i found it quite a short read. for any one concerning themselves with the history of democracy this is a must read.

Cypher ~ ALL CAMPERS OF AC

It has come to my attention that there is talk of wars and rebellions. As far as wars, anyone who participates in an attack against another camp speaks for themselves only and not the camp as a whole. As far as rebellions, anyone found participating in any rebellious acts will be immediately and forcefully removed from the camp. Anyone found with the conspiracy to rebell will suffer the same fate. This camp will not fall to a couple of ragtag self obsessed idiots that can't let go of the past. We will be organizing a camp militia to keep peace and order. Anyone who wishes to join this militia can talk to me to see if they meet the requirements.

Cypher wrapped his arm around her waist. ''Yeah. I still talk to my friends outside of school but, not as much as I would.'' He shrugged and readjusted Brady on his arm. ((Can we talk at our book? I'm going to be posting slow and that'd make it easier.))
