Atlas of Anatomy is the student's choice:

Thieme is the best anatomy atlas by far, hands down. Clearer pictures, more pictures, more realistic pictures, structures broken up in ways that make sense and shown from every angle...includes clinical correlations and summary charts of innervations and actions. That's about all there is to it. Just buy it. Thank you Thieme!!! Ok, now back to studying...

In my opinion this book surpasses them all. It's the artwork. The artist has found the perfect balance of detail and clarity. Some of these illustrations have to be seen to be believed.... The pearls of clinical information are very good and these add significance to the information and make it easier to remember. Easier to remember is key.

Editorial Reviews

From The Critics
Reviewer: Valeria A. Forlizzi, (Facultad de Medicina - UBA)
Description: This atlas is a brilliant masterpiece, filled with anatomical illustrations of great accuracy, appropriately labeled and aesthetically appealing. It flows logically and systematically through the regions of the body: back, thorax, abdomen and pelvis, upper and lower extremities, head and neck, and neuroanatomy.
Purpose: This is intended to provide a foundation for the study of anatomy for medical and other health professions students completing a human anatomy course with dissection. It also is valuable for established health professionals who wish to review the relationship of anatomical structures or need to show a student or a patient a key anatomical relationship.
Audience: This atlas is indispensable not only for medical students enrolled in a beginning course in anatomy and medical residents in surgical specialties, but also for health professions practitioners, when in need of reviewing forgotten anatomical concepts.
Features: Regional anatomy and dissection approaches are discussed throughout the book, in different chapters. Limits and contents of the respective regions are described in summary form in detailed tables and very clear schematic diagrams. However, landmarks could be added and marked, to help students learn important surface anatomical relationships that are crucial for developing appropriate physical exam skills.
Assessment: This is a very useful atlas, especially considering it is a single comprehensive volume and not very expensive, when compared with other atlases such as the multivolumeThieme Atlas of Anatomy, Schuenke et al. (Thieme International, 2007) and the more expensive Atlas of Human Anatomy, 4th edition, Netter (Elsevier, 2006).

    Digital Version has issues!

Great atlas, however the digital version has all kinds of issues.
It never scales images correctly, so you end up missing key figures, and have to adjust the font size back and forth till you get it just right.

    PAGE numbers don't match up!

Great Resource for any anatomy intensive course

Amazing resource, loved all the pictures! By far my favorite book for anatomy purposes. There can be a lot of detailed material in here so make sure to see what your professor requires of you before trying to dive into it all!
