Doody's Review ServiceReviewer: Vincent F Carr, DO, MSA, FACC, FACP (Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences)
Description: This is a well presented summary of common surgical procedures.
Purpose: The purpose is to give a visual and organizational approach for young clinicians who will be faced with assisting with these procedures on their clinical rotations. The goal is very worthwhile as students commonly see only the actual procedure, but do not get exposed to the organizational aspects.
Audience: This is a tremendous asset for students, residents, and nurses who are requested to assist during procedures.
Features: The graphics are some of the best I have reviewed, including some with superimposed images to show fetal positions and anatomy that may not be apparent.
Assessment: This is an extraordinarily helpful book for students, nurses, and teaching purposes, and the full text and images are available online.
