Overview

This book is a highly illustrated reference book for the general dentist who wants to expand his office. Detailed line drawings are used to present oral and maxillofacial procedures step-by-step. This book is a resource for both clinical and patient management for outpatient minor oral surgery. Dentists can learn to perform oral and surgical techniques that they previously referred to oral surgeons.

The book contains black-and-white illustrations.

Editorial Reviews

Doody's Review Service
Reviewer: Nadia Dajani, DDS (University of Chicago)
Description: This book is written to help dental professionals gain more knowledge and a better understanding of procedures dealing with oral surgery. Topics range from minor exodontia to infections to current prophylactic regimens.
Purpose: This book is conceived and written to address and help elucidate the surgical area of dentistry. I believe the objectives are worthy, and that they have been met.
Audience: This book will be useful not only to dental students but also to practicing general dentists and surgical specialists. The authors are credible authorities; their educational backgrounds are sufficient to address the topics.
Features: This book is written in a simple yet thorough manner that provides the proper information to the audience. It covers information from simple to complex exodontia, infections, and treatment with medications and surgical procedures. Implants, prosthetic procedures, and trauma and pathology are also covered. The tables are clear and thorough. A very informative addition to the book is the appendix that covers essential aspects of dentistry. Included are illustrations that are drawn; pictures would have been nicer.
Assessment: This is a thorough and complete reference dealing with a wide range of oral surgery topics that are important to all dental care providers. The dental-medical aspect of dentistry is also addressed. This book provides information through easy to understand charts and figures.

Atlas of Minor Oral Surgery - A Major Success

Over the past decade,I have read multiple publishings related to this topic. This is by far, the most concise atlas on the subject that I have come by. It is extremely reader friendly & to the point. It offers precise detail & simple explanation of common, daily performed procedures. The many detailed illustrations are well done and clarify the procedures. This atlas is an invaluable tool to both students and seasoned practitoners. I HIGHLY reccommend it.
