"Simple changes in the way you parent can make a huge difference in your child's confidence, resilience and ability to love. Attached at the Heart is thoroughly loving, compelling and supportive-packed with practical, good-sense advice to help you to strengthen and deepen your child's humanity...every single day."

-Harvey Karp, MD, FAAP, Creator of the book/DVD, The Happiest Baby on the Block

Why are there increasing numbers of children experiencing depression, anxiety, aggression and other serious mental, emotional and behavioral problems? Mental health experts agree that this crisis is due largely to their lack of deep connectedness to parents and community. This crucial finding requires a major shift in societal attitudes and our treatment of children.

In this book, you'll learn:

  • Important facts you need to know before and after having your baby
  • Strategies to strengthen the emotional bonds with your child
  • How to be a more conscious parent with your children
  • New information to help you make informed decisions
  • How raising our children with empathy and respect can positively affect society

No other parenting book is as comprehensive in its scope, from an overview of attachment theory and current child development research to practical strategies for everyday situations. Attached at the Heart is a vital blueprint for change that begins in the home.

This book is the most comprehensive Attachment Parenting book available. It provides inspiration, support, education, resources, and encouragement to all parents who seek to nuture strong connections with their children. It's a must read for any parent (well, any caregiver, really) who wants to establish a respectful, empathetic, and compassionate relationship. Every parent should read this book!

AATH brings together all of the best in parenting research and practice. It's the perfect reference tool to return to over and over again. I wish it had been written before I had my first child!

"Attached at the Heart" is a wonderful guide for every parent that practices or wants to learn more about attachment theory. Nicholson and Parker do an excellent job of explaining the science behind attachment theory, which was very interesting for me to read. It is wonderful to read a book that confirms that gentle parenting not only feels right to me, but is effective as well! The book offers a step-by-step approach to attachment parenting that is easy to put to use right away. It is a must-read for new and expectant parents!

This is a must have book for all expectant parents. As a new parent we want to listen to our heart but society tells us otherwise. This book inspired me to follow my mothering instinct, care for my child with a gentle, guiding hand and be the best parent I can be.

This book although based in reasearch is warm, well-written and really is critical info, perfect for ALL parents. Apparently the type of parenting me and everyone I know do is called Attachment Parenting. Now, my parenting insticts have a manual of sorts to refer to when I need to learn more. I wish it was written LONG ago. I am grateful for it. (This is what I hear from every parent who has read it.)

One of the best features of this book is the extensive list of resources and research found at the end of each chapter. It leads you to more information and shows you how research supports the premise of attachment parenting. This is a must read for parents-to-be, parents, grandparents, and anyone who cares for children. It shows you not only how to build a better relationship with a child, but why it is so important for that child and his future. An incredibly informative and inspiring book worth reading again and again!
