Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Carrie Hane Hung
The evil Phanty-Cats have escaped from the Phantom Zone space prison and they plan to seek revenge against Krypto, their captor. Krypto is the leader of the Space Canine Patrol Agency, a team of eight superhero dogs with special powers. Their mission is to protect the inhabitants of Geegax. In this adventure, the team must devise a plan to sniff out the Phanty-Cat escapees, who are difficult to capture since they are invisible. The Space Canine Patrol agents attempt to protect the Geegaxian’s carnival and feast from the felines but the canines appear to be literally causing a mess at the event. The patrol agents need to catch the Phanty-Cats before the agency loses its good reputation. Readers will find brightly colored illustrations along with words in the text accentuated in different colors and fonts. The end pages are filled with many different superheroes and villains. At the back of the book, there are a couple matching activities, some jokes, a glossary, and a web address for more activities. This book is part of the “DC Super-Pets” series. Children who enjoy superhero stories may like this action story of super-pets fighting crime. Reviewer: Carrie Hane Hung; Ages 7 to 9.
