Easy to follow format - nice tactics!

Another fairly good book on chess tactics. It has a very easy to follow format. It may look like this book is written for the junior player, however, it is suitable for any age! A large variety of tactics and traps are covered. This book is written for the novice, not for advanced players.

Awesome book. Helped me win the Supernationals III

This is a wonderful book. The chapters I like particularly are the chapters on the bust, pawn storms, and the power of kamikazi. I used these aggressive strategies to win all 7 rounds at the supernationals. Now,near my door, I have a giant trophy, and I owe it to this book.

Teen author may appeal to young readers

This junior champion skips a lot that older writers cover, but provides plenty of good tactics and puzzles (How can White checkmate in two moves?, etc.). My 6th grade daughter (who plays well in chess club tourneys but doesn't want to "study" strategy and tactics) likes solving the puzzles. Middle and high schoolers should enjoy this book if they are advanced beginners needing some challenges. A good skill-builder.
