Dale Bryner Salt Lake City, UT 1979 Hardcover Sixth printing 399pp. Quarto [26 cm] Light brown cloth with a gilt stamped title on the spine, and a gilt stamped vignette on the ... front cover. Very good. The spine is subtly rolled. There is minor soiling on the top edge of the text block. The front hinge is a little weak. The dedication page and the last index page have a former owner's blind stamps. The dust jacket is in good condition only. The spine and edges of the panel are sun faded. There are multiple small losses from the edges. There are also numerous closed tears in the edges. The longest closed tear measures 2 inches long. The jacket is lightly soiled, and has 4 small moisture stains. Price-clipped. Harold Schindler spent 6 years trying to find out the answers to the mysterious questions surrounding Orrin Porter Rockwell's life. Read more Show Less

Small chips in the fold of the front inside flap have been backed with a piece of clear tape that measures 3 inches. There is a 5 inch closed tear in the top edge of the rear panel that has also been backed with clear tape. Harold Schindler's magnum opus on the life and times of the notorious Orrin Porter Rockwell, bodyguard to both Joseph Smith and Brigham Young and hired assassin of the saints.
