a tad long, but worth it

Enjoyed reading this one. Told through third person views of various main characters, from the evil to the good. Aurian is a lovable heroine and readers will sympathize with her. The story takes place from her early childhood to her battles with the evil Archmage, Miathan. Everything in the middle is equally delicious!

    One of the Greats!

I happen to have picked this book up at an airport and couldn't put it down. The characters were so detailed and the story was so great that you were there with Aurian and everyone else. A must read for anyone who loves fantasy or who just wants to get away for a great adventure.

This is a book you can stay up all night reading!

I know, because I did. Maggie Furey's Aurian kept a good pace through out, always leaving me unable to put the book down and wait till later to find out what would happen next. The description was excellent and the characters drew you in to their struggles in this magically charged adventure. I can't wait to get the next book in the series!

A unique and refreshing style of fantasy

'Aurian' is a wonderfully written book. The characters were developed incredibly well. Also, I have read countless books by authors who try to twist several storylines together, and most were, frankly, failures. Maggie Furey is excellent in that aspect; the many, many plotlines are intertwined together tactfully, and they are put together in such a way that it is easy to keep track of them all. This is for anyone who enjoys sword and sorcery fiction.

If you want characters out of the ordinary, read this book!

I found this book a very good read. Although a bit choppy it still allowed me to feel for the characters and feel as if I was there. A very good book to read in the summer, the characters are not what you might expect for a fantasy book but that is what makes this book great.

If you want a book you can't put down, this is your book

When I first looked at the book and read the back I thought it was going to be like every other fantasy novel I've read. It wasn't. I was spellbound by the characters, the action, the plot and the magical settings Furey describes. I couldn't put the book down! This is one of the best books I've read in a long time!
