    An Excellent Guide To Australia

DK Guides have done it again! They have produced a fascinating guide book about the diverse continent of Australia. I bought this guide prior to taking my first business trip to Sydney in August 2000. After reading the Survival Guide section, I felt comfortable in knowing what to expect 'in the land down-under'. While enroute on the plane ride, I flipped through the colorful pictures, read some interesting history, and reviewed the clear and easy-to-use maps. I found this guide to be a wealth of useful information. Having a basic knowledge of Australia (the geography, history, government, etc.)allowed me to interact with clients on a personal basis. In fact one of my customers commented: 'I don't believe I have ever met anyone from the US that knew anything about Australia, other than the fact that kangaroos and koalas live here'. I would recommend this book to both tourists and business travelers. It certainly beats other guides that contain a few poorly focused black & white snap shots and endless lists of hotels, restaurants, and blurry maps that are often out-of-date! My only comment to DK is: I wish they had an Eyewitness Guide to Japan/Tokyo with the same level of coverage as the Australian Guide. It would be of enormous value to tourists and business travelers that frequent this part of the globe!
