The first, Lower Austria is the white wine heartland of Austria, with some world-class wines made from Grüner Veltliner and Riesling. Each section of the book covers one wine region and details its dominant grape varieties and wine styles before providing producer profiles. These explain each producer’s winemaking approach as well as giving tasting notes on a selection of the wines. Stephen Brook is a distinguished author and award-winning wine journalist. After a career in publishing in the US and UK Stephen became a full-time writer in 1982. He has written and edited many books and anthologies on travel, and numerous books on wine, especially on the wines of Bordeaux and California. He contributes regularly to four international wine magazines, lectures on wine at Christie’s Education in London, and is in demand as a guest judge at wine competitions around the world.
