Understanding autism for people new to this diagnosis

Information concise and basic if you have read other professionally written books. A good guide for family and others to help understand the child and how to react to various situations.

Great for parents with child who has AS!

I thought this would have resources for an adult, I was wrong. This is a great source for a family that has a child with AS.

    But not for us

Autism Speaks is an organization that concentrates on "cute" but moderately ro severely impaired CHILDREN, not adults and certainly not on people with Aspergers' and certainly not on adults. This book is not amazing. It is basic and full of pseudo-science. Skip this and read Tony Atwood, John Elder Robinson, Temple Grandin, or Rudy Simone instead.

Book is b o r i n g and so not worth your time or money, even if your child was just diagnosed.
