Overview

The publication of this autobiography is long overdue. It was finished some time in 1908 and in 1909 the author moved to a fairer clime (as he would have put it), so the book never got published at the time. For over a century it existed in just one typewritten copy buried in private book collections. But the advent of direct publishing has given you, the 21st century reader, a rare chance to hear a never heard before life story of a Victorian Canadian – to take part in his adventures, follow in his footsteps (sometimes at the risk of falling into deep snow or stepping on a bear). About the Author

Rev. Theophilus Stinson Richey was born on 11th of May, 1840 in Toronto. He was educated at the Church of England Collegiate School, Windsor, Nova Scotia, The Free Church Academy, Halifax, and Sackville College, New Brunswick. His first parish was at Petersville, N. B., and he worked for 18 years in the diocese of Nova Scotia, under bishop Binney. In 1883 he became senior cannon of St. Paul's Cathedral, Fond Du Lac, holding this position until 1891, when he assumed charge of the parish at Chippewa Falls and od St. Stephen's, Milwaukee, at the same time acting as trustee of Racine College and of Nashotah House. His later ministry was spent in the diocese of Chicago.He died of heart disease in Wilmette,Illinois, on 24th of April, 1909.
