Autoimmune The Cause and The Cure

The incidence of autoimmune disease has tripled in the last few decades, with an estimated fifty-million Americans being affected. These modern-day illnesses include chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia, lupus, Sjogren’s, rheumatoid arthritis, raynaud’s, rosacea, myasthenia gravis, multiple sclerosis, type 2 diabetes, Hashimoto’s thyroiditis and more.

Autoimmune The Cause and the Cure is a revolutionary book that has brought together scientific research from around the world, showing autoimmune sufferers, not only the cause of their disease, but also a diet-based means for a cure.

The symptoms of autoimmune disease can now be clearly explained and traced back to their origin. The evidence proves that these diseases share a common source, and that this source is not viral, bacterial, or genetic, but originates with a fundamental lack of nutrients that are essential to the functioning of your body.

What began as a personal journey of pain and suffering for the author, has resulted in life-saving knowledge for autoimmune sufferers everywhere.

Meet the Author

Annesse Brockley (Author):

Annesse and her husband Mark live in the beautiful Black Hills of Spearfish, South Dakota. Here, they raised their two children and slowly transformed their family home into a fully functioning, natural homestead.

When Annesse first became sick with lupus in 1992, little was known about the disease and the medical community held few treatment options. She set out to learn everything she could about lupus and other autoimmune diseases. Through her research, she came to learn that almost all modern-day illnesses are not only connected to each other, but also to the foods we eat. Annesse is now sharing her 20 years of learning, knowledge, progress and healing with others in an effort to help them recover from the devastation of autoimmune disease.

Having no prior knowledge of the all-natural lifestyle, creating Nature Had It First has been a true journey. Today, however, when you visit their home, you will find a vibrant, thriving vegetable garden populated with hearty chickens wandering in search of bugs and fresh clover. A group of llamas help control weeds in the field as well as deter predators while fresh potted herbs grow on the porch for making teas or as ingredients in Annesse’s famous meals. She has even tried her hand at raising bees and is actively involved in the local natural foods community.

Kristin Urdiales (Co-Author)

Kristin, Annesse and Mark Brockley’s daughter, was only fourteen when her mother became ill in 1992. Having already begun to suffer from migraine headaches and extraordinary fatigue, she knew that she was most likely on the same path if she did not make some changes. It would not be until Kristin was in her early 30s that she would truly discover the things that would improve her health.

Kristin and her mother have long since shared a love of natural healing, which led Kristin to attend internationally recognized Bastyr University, a Naturopathic Medical School outside of Seattle, Washington.

Kristin and her husband Brian now reside in Fort Morgan, Colorado with their children Ella and Keenan and their five chickens.

    WONDERFUL Healing book!

I would strongly suggest to anyone who is battling autoimmune issues to read & apply this book to your life. The information is extremely well researched & detailed. I am feeling so much better after following the regime in this book. I had read 4 or 5 other books on autoimmune diseases, but this one explained the REASON I have them & then taught me what to do about it. I am feeling better every day and have more energy than I've had in 3 years, and I have days where I feel completely wonderful & full of life.
Thank you Annesse & Kristin for researching & writing this book.

This book is a must read for any sufferers of Autoimmune Disease

This book is a must read for any sufferers of Autoimmune Diseases! I bought this book for my girlfriend while I was looking for a simple diet that may help people with Lupus and from the other reviews it seemed to be more than that. Boy Was I Lucky!!!! This book has given us real hope for relief, if not a cure for the conditions that she deals with every day and has for such a long time. Having been diagnosed with these multiple Autoimmune Diseases; Lupus, Fibromyalgia, Sjogren’s Syndrome, Raynaud’s over 15 years ago, it was like this book was written just for her! It bothered me that the doctors couldn’t explain why these diseases were too often found together in people but didn’t seem to explain why or understand the common links between them, other than they are all Autoimmune Diseases. This book explains it so very clearly in both easy to understand studies as well as plain language. The common threads between these diseases are real and it’s so important that they are understood, and the diet remedies are very easily explained as to why they work and how to find and prepare the remedies.
At first I was worried that this would be a very difficult diet to follow and that the ingredient’s would be difficult to find but I was pleasantly surprised that I was able to find a wealth of information easily on the web with some of the sites listed in this book as well as finding a local health food Co-op with every ingredient listed in this book and much, much, more! By the way, the food is actually delicious! BONUS!!!!
Although we’ve read this book twice now in just a few days, and we are just starting this life style change together, yes me too as there is nothing wrong with this healthy lifestyle for me as well. I have very high hopes for a future free of illness for her and I will post updates as we begin her recovery.
Thank You Annesse, for all of your hard work and investigation’s that went into writing this Book!
    Hopeful,
    Mike Orr

    Nature had it First

Autoimmune: The Cause And The Cure shares in-depth, well documented research on the causes of autoimmune diseases. Annesse Brockley is the co-author of this book and she shares her own story of suffering with Lupus. Her research and finding foods that heal is the basis of the book. Annesse refused to take short cuts with her health (just treating the symptoms with medication) and searched out the root causes of her illness along with finding natural ways to cure. Healing her gut became Annesses's main mission. A quote I love from the book; "You are sick because you have lost the beneficial bacteria that you were designed to have. What do you think would happen if all the bacteria in the world died? It would not be long before all life on earth ceased to exist. When we are sick, we often look to antibiotics, which kill bacteria, to become healthy again. "Anti-biotic" means 'against life', all life. They kill off all the bacteria in our gut, because they can't recognize the difference between the good bacteria and the bad. Only about 5% of our gut bacteria is pathogenic; the other 95% is beneficial and necessary for our survival. How do you fix that kind of destruction? By eating yogurt? By taking digestive enzymes? Remember, there are thousands of species of beneficial bacteria. How many strains does pasteurized yogurt contain? The pasteurization process kills off all the original bacteria. The few strains present when you purchased the yogurt were added back in. They will not restore your gut to its original condition. Thankfully nature has provided us with foods that will. We will also need to avoid anything that can cause our GI tract further harm."* Autoimmune: The Cause And The Cure does an excellent job of sharing healing foods and foods to avoid which can harm our GI tract. Annesse Brockley successfully healed from Lupus by changing her diet! For many years now we have been 'instructed' as to what foods we should eat and what foods we should avoid, the problem with these mainstream instructions is that it is making us sicker. The health of modern people is horrible. Autoimmune and other diseases are rampant. Adults and children alike suffer debilitating illnesses that are reducing our expected life span and also preventing us from having a good quality of life. Autoimmune: The Cause And The Cure reminds us to look back to the foods invented in nature and not in a lab. These are 'normal' foods in their natural and whole state. Nothing weird or outlandish. Except possibly the idea that YOU can be responsible for your own good health by taking charge of what you put into your body. Nature had it first, it is time for us to begin to look back in order to move forward with the best health possible. *Quote from Autoimmune: The Cause And The Cure page 97
