An elegant account of an outstanding animated series

If there was any doubt at all that Avatar: The Last Airbender is a genuine work of art, this book is the winning argument. Each page is filled to the brim with artwork, including breathtaking backgrounds, amazing portraits, and talented sketches. The passages - written firsthand by the creators themselves - exude honesty and creativity, starting at the very beginning, traveling from the very first stages of development and initial concepts that would ultimately become the Avatar universe. The production staff's hard work, effort, and devotion to their craft truly shines within these pages. This is a necessity for any diehard fan, and even still a wonderful artbook for anyone else. Can't wait for Legend of Korra!

One of the best art books I've ever owned.

And I've owned a lot of these kind of art books. The pictures are both beautiful and helpful. But I think the best part is the step by step cometary by the creators of the show.

    Amazing!

An excellent book to get lost into the avatar universe again, and to open your mind to how this wonderful series was created. To see the art and design of the characters and the overall avatar world as truly amazing. There are pages and pages of wonderful illustations and information that deepens the meaning behind the story and whatnot. A great book for Avatar fans and a must buy!!!

This book is awesome. If you love the show, you'll love all the behind the scenes artwork and commentary that is packed into this book. There's tons of concept art, sketches, key animation breakdowns, and storyboards. This book is perfect for any fan and even better for an artist. The book itself is put together very nicely as well. I could not recommend this enough!
