Overview

Seventeen-year-old Tessa McCaide has come a long way since her abrupt entrance into the world of werewolves, but she still has just as far to go before she’s comfortable with turning full wolf. In the meantime, she’s avoiding the topic of shifting to four legs any way she can. Thankfully her mate, Dastien Laurent, is quite the distraction.
When she finds her best friend, Meredith, getting sick in the bathroom, Tessa knows something’s majorly wrong. Meredith was cursed years ago, and the dark magic kept her wolf dormant—only now the wolf is awake, and that same spell is killing her.
Tessa has no intention of sitting around while Meredith wastes away. Even if it means playing with magic she doesn’t understand, she’ll do anything to save Meredith’s life. Including bargaining with the local coven of witches and its crazed leader, whose only goal is getting Tessa to join the witchy ranks.
Can Tessa save her friend without losing herself?

This is the second book in the Alpha Girl series, and it a prett

This is the second book in the Alpha Girl series, and it a pretty little sequel to Becoming Alpha. I liked Tessa, Dastien and Meridith, so I was definitely looking forward to seeing more of them. This time around, we get to see some real growth from Tessa, and I liked how Tessa learned more about where she came from, her heritage and what it all meant for her. Tess has this side to her that is selfless, and will do anything for those she loves. She does some pretty cray things too when Meridith goes missing and she sets out to find her. The pacing was steady, not as much action this time, but with all the witchy/werewolf stuff happening, I flew through this before I knew it. Now, since this is a novella the romance too kinda a back seat, and was more about Tessa and trying to save Meredith. Dastien is there with Tessa through everything, and he was just as charming as always. Avoiding Alpha was a interestingly fun and quick read, and a great addition to the series.

    I love the characters!!

The characters are so fun. So vibrant. You can't help but be enthralled by them. I feel like I'm with them enjoying a unique life with great friends who smile, laugh, cry, and love in such human yet supernatural way. :)

    2nd book in the series

This is the second book in the series, it's just as good as the first one. It only has a 148 pages, which was disappointing. I would highly recommend this series to anyone who loves supernatural elements and/or werewolves!

    Short and sweet

141 pgs. Felt chintzy after the last book, but still a fun ride!

More a extra than a sequel

Instead of following the pending plot items from the first book, this introduces new series sub plot. If anything, the unresolved plots from the first book are made worse, and are still unresolved.

    Good read

Loved the first book.....this book was good it was just too short! Less than 200 pages just feels like you paid too much for a short story it felt unfinished. I like seqential books but I usually try to choose completed series. So you can got to the next book quickly. I will probably purchase the next book....I hope it has more text and resolutions. This author is tallented loved the storey line. Wish there was some way to know how many pages are available before you buy the book.
