The 3rd book was just as captivation as the 1st and 2nd which stole my breath and heart away.
Olive and Dean's story is one that is going to be well remembered by me, already read 4 times over and I still can't enough of their love story. This book doesn't deserve 5 stars, it's deserves more than infinity. Nina addressed issues so real to life, she gave life to the characters Dean and Olivia. Gosh I cannot stop gushing about these two.
I love these two so much!
I loved how they worked for their marriage, betrayal isn't something so easily forgiven but Dean worked for it, circumstances led her to kiss another man but she was honest and told him right away. Then him hiding things from her wasn't quite fair and I'd thought the way they're going I'd thought their marriage would end at some point but it didn't because... these two shamazing people worked for their marriage, supporting each other, despite their arguments and issues they worked for it.
The best happily ever ending they could've got! Nina has done justice to this trilogy and I cannot wait to get my hands on more of her books!

A fantastic conclusion to this married couple's story!
Minor spoilers alert!!!
More Liv and Dean, yes! I eagerly dove right into their ongoing story again. These two fascinated the hell out of me. I couldn’t wait to discover how they would get to their final HEA.
Something new to their intensely sexy and emotional dynamic was the humor. I loved how adorably silly they could also be:
“You know I love you like peanut butter loves jelly.”
“You know I can’t wait to get you all sticky again.”
They had plenty of other silly moments like when they discussed Liv’s lusty dreams. I cracked up when she told Dean “you’ve been all sorts of manly things” and made him laugh when she also mentioned he was even a genie once. Pirate Dean was one of my favorite fantasy roles.
I also loved their cute little drawings to each other which were actually illustrated in the book. They just got better and better with each one. Although drawing was obviously not one of Dean’s greater strengths, his muffin drawing was one of his best efforts. And I thought Liv’s email response to it was so romantic and heartfelt. Dean really committed to wooing Liv like a knight from medieval times. Their long distance phone sex chats were hotter than hot again, and I seriously couldn’t believe how they kept topping themselves with crazy good sexual encounters.
And the wisdom of North, Liv’s mentor from her days living on the commune, was another nice addition to the story. It took a personal tragedy for him to own up to his mistakes and change his life for the better. North saw the value in tutoring young Liv and encouraged her to go out and really live life and realize her potential. He was a very necessary positive influence that worked to balance out her mom Crystal’s negative influence on her life.
Even worse than Crystal was Maggie Hamilton who was a lazy, self-serving graduate student of Dean’s. She really made me want to throat punch her for the unnecessary trouble her unfounded complaint against Dean caused. And her dad’s behavior on the opening day of Liv and Allie’s new children themed café business was truly reprehensible. I liked how that plotline was neatly resolved and how Liv and Dean were able to move forward, reunited as a team again.
“You and me, professor.”
“You and me, beauty.”
The closing chapter before the epilogue was so poignant and summed up this couple’s relationship so well.
‘My husband and I will always be two people living one life of perfect imperfection. We’ll always live here, in the place of Liv and Dean, where problems are solved and locks are opened. A place of infinite love, persistence, tenderness, passion, acceptance, and forgiveness. A place where wishes are granted, dreams come true, and stories have happy endings – not because of fate or magic, but because we love each other so hard and so well.’
I love a meaty epilogue and this one didn’t disappoint me. Liv revealed what she plans to tell their child someday. And I loved all the lessons she stated that she had learned on her journey to their HEA, to now.
‘And the most valuable lesson I’ve learned will forever live in my heart, right beside my husband. Love the one who proves to you that happily ever after is only the beginning.’
I am so glad to have experienced this married couple’s journey. I’m looking forward to reading Break The Sky which tells the lovestory of Dean’s brother, Archer West and his best friend, Kelsey March. They seem like an unlikely romantic pairing so I’m definitely intrigued to discover what brings them together.
After reading Arouse and Allure, I simply couldn’t wait to get my hands on Awaken. I absolutely loved Dean and Liv's story thus far, but unfortunately, didn’t feel as connected to their characters throughout the first half of this book.
The third installment of the Spiral of Bliss trilogy begins with Dean traveling to Italy to serve as an advisor on an archeological dig after an alleged—and totally bogus—sexual harassment charge, brought by a vindictive student, threatens to ruin his career.
“Even from thousands of miles away, I can feel my husband. I feel his thoughts brushing against my skin, the beating of his heart in rhythm with mine. I feel him in the world, a powerful, unyielding presence who will forever be my source of safety and warmth. And because of that, the distance between us doesn’t seem quite so vast, and my aloneness not quite so alone.”
During their months of separation, Liv, determined to be independent, learns to stand on her own, make decisions and take risks—eventually evolving into a veritable force to be reckoned with. While Dean learns to temper his constant need for control and trust in his wife’s ability to handle difficult situations with strength and courage. And while their time apart is hard on them both, their love for each other simply grows stronger.
“My husband and I will always be two people living one life of perfect imperfection. We’ll always live here, in the place of Liv and Dean, where problems are solved and locks are opened. A place of infinite love, persistence, tenderness, passion, acceptance, and forgiveness. A place where wishes are granted, dreams come true, and stories have happy endings—not because of fate or magic, but because we love each other so hard and so well.”
Awaken is a beautifully written, passionate and emotionally heartfelt story about the resilience of true love. Though their journey has been fraught with insecurities, secrets, and miscommunication, Dean and Liv continue to fight for their happily ever after growing immensely as individuals, and as a couple, throughout the story. As they battle the felonious sexual harassment charges brought against Dean, you really feel the depth of their undying love and commitment to each other. Personally, I love this couple. They’re meant to be together. And, of course, Professor Dean West is a sexy, intelligent, possessive caveman who is soooo in love with his wife, he’ll make your heart—and your panties—melt! If you’re a fan of steamy adult contemporary romance, then this is a trilogy you won’t want to miss!

Awaken, A Spiral of Bliss Novel (Book Three), Nina Lane.
Review from Jeannie Zelos book reviews
So, book three, the home stretch. I'm sort of sad that it finsishes, and yet excited to see how it ends. Dean and Liv feel so real to me. The great thing agbout trilogies ( and series) is that it allows the length for some really inventive, creative narrating, and lets us get to know the characters involved fully. I hate waiting though, so I was really fortunate to get all three parts for review so I could read them back to back. Thats how I love to read trilogies and series, without months of gap where I lose the thread of the plots and the momentum of the emotion. This trilogy is packed with emotion and solid drama and reading this way means I feel that all the way through.
So, poor Dean and Liv, cicumstances have forced a temporary separation on them, with Dean being on a dig in Italy....they have phone sex, cyber sex and help-yourself sex, but erotic though it is for them its not a patch on the real thing they agree. They really miss each other, not just for sex! But for that companionship, for how whole they feel together. The issues that forced the separation won't seem to go away and then grow in intensity, creating friction for both of them as they can't talk to anyone about it. To add to that Liv's mum turns up – Dean isn't happy about that either. He's so full of need for control, and it seems as if he feels everything is slipping away, and he just can't handle that. Liv though – she really grows in this final part, gaining a confidence she never thought she's had. It's backed by the enduring love she knows Dean has for her. Whatever their problems they both know that the love they share is special, its not just a one life thing but an enduring soul mate type density that is bone deep, in every part of them from the skin to the soul..I love that about them, I love the way Dean calls her Beauty. Love, Darling, Beautiful, Honey, even that awful (to me ) overused US Baby term – they're all kind of throwaway, generic terms but Beauty – its not something usually said and it feels really special when he calls Liv that. A term kept just for her. He's such a great man, strong and attractive, and so full of romantic ideas to show Liv just how much he thinks of her.
Liv was a bit lost in the earlier parts, slowly growing in confidence, but not really going anywear. She keeps thinking about how little she's achieved, fearing she'll end up like her mum, with nothing to show for her life. She's much stronger though, and as Dean reminds her, she pulled herself out of that life of her mums' at a very early age. Then despite setbacks stuck to her plans, faced her fears and through all that they managed to find each other and be together. Now she's in a new venture, and finally feels she's achieved something worthwhile. They are still battling the thing that separated them though..Dean is back now, but still constrained in what he's allowed to do and where he can go, and with her mum also around there's potential for so much tension.
Well, I though I knew what was going to happen, then it looked like it was going in another direction and then....all change again, right at the final moment, and made for a fantastic, perfect conclusion. Its been a great ride with Liv and Dean, and there characters are ones that will stay with me for a very long time. Books that are well worth reading, full of real people, emotional dramas and satisfying conclusions. Definitely a trio to keep for re reading.
Stars: Five again. Not a simple, easy, light read but a trilogy that pulls at emotions and makes the reader think deeply about problems and solutions. Throw in all the hot, erotic, racy sex and its a winner all the way.

I loved this series so much, I read it in a day. Seriously, once I started, I couldn't stop. I loved it that much. This series was beautiful and tragic, heartwarming and heartbreaking. I can't remember the last time a love story brought forth the kind of emotions that Liv and Dean's story did. I don't have enough words to say how much I adored this couple and how much I am going to miss them. All I can say is, "Brava, Nina Lane!"Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT!!!!
"You and me, professor."
"You and me, beauty."
I love that I was right and wrong about Dean and Liv at the end of ALLURE. I was right about their amazing relationship but I was wrong in that I thought I knew where Nina Lane was taking things, but she did things so much better than I had imagined, and in this instance I was so happy to be wrong. There is something just so special and beautiful about this series. Watching Dean and Liv's relationship grow and bloom despite the storms they must weather is a thing of beauty. Where lesser couples would have given up, the depths of their love overcame whomever and whatever came along trying to destroy their happily ever after, including their internal insecurities and secrets.
Starting AWAKEN with the two of them separate (but together) was both difficult because I hurt for them and felt the injustice of their situation, but was also so important because I absolutely loved the direction that Nina took things. She brought such an incredible newness to them, combining longing, loving, and learning, with a chivalry twist. Bringing in the professor's love of all things medieval was genius, and I loved watching the back and forth between Dean and Liv, whether by simple conversation, sensual connection, or sexy combination. I laughed, I smiled, I got hot under the collar. And speaking of hot - whether these two are in the same room or hundreds of miles apart, they are so sexy and so in love you can feel it pouring off the pages.
"And just like that, I fall wildly in love with my husband all over again."
"I'm at your feet forever, Olivia Rose."
While the Professor and his Beauty continue to rebuild and refortify their relationship, external forces are not going to give up easily on trying to destroy them. I definitely wanted to do some butt-kicking on Dean and Liv's behalf with several characters who were messing with this couple I love. But through all the stress and instability, our beautiful couple are able to demonstrate and prove how very, very good they are together. While the future may be in flux, their love just gets stronger and stronger. Dean must learn to balance his instincts to protect Liv at all costs and let her become the woman she needs to be. Liv must grow in her confidence and trust in herself while also strengthening her husband who's had his professional world shaken. And watching them become the best of who they are, together and separate, was remarkably well done. I just love this couple!
I loved this book and I loved this series. I loved how Nina created such a beautiful, amazing couple in Dean and Liv. I loved that she tackled so many different aspects of their marriage and showed the intense depths of a their relationship and characters, but also proved the strength of their love to overcome any odds standing in their way. The road was not gentle, but the journey made them all the more stronger and better than how they started. The conclusion was touching and lovely and perfect and just the ending I was hoping for. Bravo, Nina Lane!!
"Love the one who proves to you that happily ever after is only the beginning."

I have loved every second of this journey with Liv and Dean. From their unconditional love to their ups and downs, from their deep abiding passion for each other to the shaky trials of their marriage. It's been a rollercoaster ride of emotions, a whirlwind of love, sadness, happiness, hurt, fear, humor, worry. I loved going through all of that with Dean and Liv, and seeing them find a way through all of it. Their love for each other was strong enough to conquer anything that came their way.
I never thought I would enjoy these books so much considering that the couple was already married and in love. Normally, I would rather watch the couple fall in love instead of starting a book where they're married and been together for three years. But that never mattered to me with Dean and Liv. Throughout everything that happened, ingrained in the pages of these books, one emotion was strongest above all the others: love. I never cared that I couldn't watch them fall in love, especially since the author gave us wonderful flashbacks during their early dating period. And I never questioned their love or why they were married, because they were downright perfect for each other.
Dean and Liv are soulmates, two puzzle pieces who fit together perfectly. They are the epitome of a great marriage; not because they are perfect, but because they would never, ever give up the love they have for each other. It's strong enough to make them want to work through the hurt, the mistakes, the tragedies. And it's strong enough where they've never even questioned how they felt. They only questioned themselves. They had to step outside their warm, safe island and look at how their marriage has changed. And change is never always bad! Dean and Liv were able to step outside their perfect bubble and figure out what needed to change and how they felt about their marriage, and that made them realize just how incredibly lucky they were to have found each other in the first place. What I loved about their marriage is that they never once stopped communicating. Communication is the key to a relationship, the most important aspect of one in my humble opinion. Dean and Liv were always able to talk to each other, to talk through their hurt and their feelings. It never ceased to amaze me how much better they were because they had each other.
At the start of Awaken, Liv and Dean are thousands of miles away. But it's in both of their best interests. For Dean, because of the fake sexual harassment case. For Liv, it's a chance for her to not lean on her husband so much, for her to become independent. I absolutely loved her character development. She's shown so much growth throughout these books, from realizing her own potential to figuring out that she has infinite strength and can handle whatever life throws her way. She no longer wants to stand behind Dean, but beside him. Not that he's smothering or controlling. He's just so protective of his wife, especially after the miscarriage. And when Liv's past comes back in her life, Dean can't help but want to take up his sword and face her battles for her. But Liv is starting to realize that maybe she's relied on him too much, that maybe she needs to find her own strength to face her past and become the person everyone knows she can be. Throughout everything, she becomes the kind of person she's always wanted to be: strong, confident, and sure of herself. And she was the perfect fit for Dean, as he was for her.
Professor Dean West is my favorite book boyfriend of the year! His love for her his wife, his protectiveness, his attentiveness. Everything he does for her just makes me swoon. And every time he calls her 'beauty' I just melt. <3 Not only did Liv go through growth, but so did Dean. He had to learn to let Liv become more independent, not because he was stifling her, but because she wanted to be. He had to figure out that Liv can stand on her own and that she could handle her problems without needing him to swoop in and save her. And it was hard for him because Dean is so damn protective of her. He hated letting her do all of this, hated letting her handle her mom by herself. Not because he didn't think she could, but because he hates it when Liv gets hurt. He can't stand to think of himself as failing her. But Liv understands this, his need to protect her, because she feels the same way with him. And oh my, Professor West has one dirty, dirty mouth. He's so hot. But the thing that made him the most attractive was his love for Liv, and how he loved her, and his absolute certainty that they belong together.
Dean and Liv were both such amazing characters. What they went through just made them stronger and better together. Their love story was absolutely breathtaking, so romantic, and deeply passionate. It was so tender, and sometimes heartbreaking, but utterly swoon-worthy. Awaken was a wonderful conclusion to the love story of Dean and Liv that so easily captured my heart.

Awaken by Nina Lane is last and final chapter in the lives of Liv and Dean.
I tend to fine myself liking books that stray from the norm. I think that’s what I like about this series so much. Liv and Dean are
already married. Instead of the chase we get the “what happens when the dust settles”. Can these book couples keep it together for
the long haul. We all want our happy endings but we never really know for sure if we’re truly getting them.
Let’s face it, marriages don’t always last.
Awaken continues with the struggles that have been plaguing Liv and Dean since book 1. Liv like I think many new wives is
struggling to find herself as a person. She’s no long a girlfriend, no longer just a lover. She’s a wife. But what sort of wife is she?
What does she bring to the marriage? What does she want to bring to the marriage?
In book 1 we saw her struggle with identity. We saw her struggle with insecurity. We saw both Liv and Dean struggle with
We had an inside view of what the lack of communication could do to a marriage. No matter how innocent everything may have been.
I think there were many of us nodding our heads in understanding.
Then in book 2, Allure (I still need to write that review), we continue to watch this couple find their way. Dean wants his wife back.
Wants to do what he knows which is to protect Liv from everyone and everything. And we have Liv who just wants to find out for
herself if she could survive without Dean. We watch how they struggle through a miscarriage. We watch how they struggle through
uncomfortable family reunions. All the while loving and caring for each other just not knowing how to give each other what they need.
For me, book 3 was sort of like watching It’s a Wonderful Life. My favorite movie by the way. This was a story about appreciating what
you have, realizing what it could be like when you don’t, and coming back with fierce determination to make it work.
Things continue to unravel for Liv and Dean and they both struggle to protect each other while walking a fine line of marital bliss. I
say fine line because we all know that intimacy doesn’t fix anything. It most definitely helps to have amazing chemistry and explosive
sex with your partner but the bills do not get paid every time you bring each other to orgasm. One could only wish! :-)
The two are thrown in every direction. Their trials and tribulations would and do crumble the strongest marriages. However, we get
to watch these two muddle through. We get to see growth. We get to see understanding. We definitely get to see lots of sex.
These two are beyond the hottest married couple I’ve ever read. But most importantly we get to watch a married couple struggle
and work through it. They maintain their integrity and their un-ending love for each other.
Their’s is the ultimate love story.
Everything comes full circle in Awaken. Readers will not be disappointed. I think you will find that Awaken is not only the perfect
title for Liv but also for Dean.

The growth of Dean and Olivia from their pasts is incredible. In Awaken we really see Olivia establish who she is not just in their relationship but in her work/personal life outside of their marriage. Dean has to do some soul searching to break free from his past and embrace letting Olivia stand on her own. Of course all of this is done while the face the potential for Dean's career to be destroyed by one selfish spineless student. We also get to meet Olivia's mother – not sure what to say about her but wow, if you didn't think Olivia was tough before, watching her interactions with her Mom just prove how strong she really is. An amazing conclusion to this incredible romance … marriage isn't easy but when two people work at it together, anything is possible. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Dean and Liv are one of my favorite couples of the year and I absolutely loved every minute of their story, it was hot and sexy, heartfelt and romantic. If you haven't read Arouse, Allure, or Awaken you are definitely missing out!!!
During this last book in the spiral of bliss series, it seems like everything falls into place for them. I loved this series because it was so much more real than other novel's of this genre, Dean and Liv experience "real" problems in their marriage and lives throughout the series. But during this time they also display true passion and desire for one another. So there are a lot of very steamy parts, which is always a plus in a great romance. I must admit that even though this book couldn't have ended more perfect, I was sad to read the last page. I don't want to let go of this beautiful couple, I'm really hoping that Nina does a spin off, and includes some more of Her Professor and His Beauty!!

5 +++ stars
I have never given 5 +++ stars before-this is a first for me and it encompasses the entire series.
AWAKEN is the third and final instalment in Nina Lane’s contemporary, new adult, erotic and sensually seductive Spiral of Bliss series focusing on Professor Dean West and the love of his life, his soul and his heart Olivia (aka Beauty) West. It is a storyline about two people, who love beyond words; who feel beyond pain; and who know that- without the other- their lives would be meaningless and without hope.
AWAKEN is a story about one man’s journey to prove that he is not the sum total of the accusations against him-but that he is the person that he is because of the woman he loves. Dean is no stranger to loss or pain, but the fear of losing Olivia throws Dean into a world of heartbreaking sorrow and a decision that will put an end to the devastation and pain that has entangled their lives. As Olivia begins to move forward with her independence, Dean’s life begins to spiral out of control.
The relationship between Dean and Olivia is sensual, erotic, provocative and moving. Dean’s love for Olivia is beyond comprehension; beyond arousing; beyond alluring. He is a man possessed by one woman and that woman owns Dean-body and soul. She is the innocence to his experience; the drug to his addiction; the light to his dark. Dean and Olivia’s relationship is passionate, heartbreaking and intense. We watch as a true romantic hero guides his innocent beauty into a world that is grace, imaginative and stirring. Every woman could only hope that there is a man as compelling and provocative in their future or their life.
Nina Lane has written a series that will captivate and awaken your mind to the possibilities of true love; soul-mates; and a love ever lasting.
AWAKEN and the Spiral of Bliss is a sensually stimulating series where two people come together in an exotic tale that will AROUSE, ALLURE and AWAKEN your mind.
Congratulations to Nina Lane. Spiral of Bliss is one of the most seductive series I have had the pleasure to read. You caught my attention with Arouse and awakened a dormant part of my soul. I can’t stress enough how the series and your writing has opened up my mind to the endless possibilities of what ifs and maybes; to the reality of love; and the allure of the romantic storyline-that I will never forget.
