Overview

Book one in the Werewolf Sentinels series.

Exploring an ice cave on the Mantanuska Glacier in Alaska, Cassidy finds something out of the ordinary-six men dressed in fur and leather, motionless and seemingly dead. But she soon discovers they're very much alive when her touch awakens one-and she finds herself pinned beneath his muscular heat in the blink of an eye.
Edensaw and his wolf brothers have slept for ten thousand years. As ice age Tlingit Indian hunters, they were chosen to be a new race of man, the first werewolves. They are the sentinels, created to protect against evil that is to come. But the touch of one woman ignites his mating urge and Edensaw awakens before he's needed, into a world he no longer knows and a passion he cannot deny.
As the couple moves from lust to love, the dark evil brews, threatening not only to destroy the mating bond, but the sentinels themselves.

Awakened From Ice by Marisa Chenery is a rather unique story with a plot line that has not been visited overly much, as some paranormal plots have been. Within this story, we meet six chiseled and hot guys who have been asleep in an ice cave for thousands of years. This is no typical type of sleep, but one that allows each of the men to intuitively know what is going on around them and the changes that the world has been going through. When placed in this sleep, they were told that they would not awaken until they were needed in the world – needed to fight a dangerous evil.

When Cassidy goes exploring and discovers a hole in a wall of ice, she works her way through until she finds herself within the cave and facing six very strangely dressed men who she worries are dead – that is until they suddenly begin to stir and awaken. From that moment on, Cassidy experiences things that she never thought remotely possible or within in the realm of her beliefs.

Though the story is fairly far-fetched (hey, it is a paranormal fiction story), it is very enjoyable and engrossing. I loved the uniqueness of it, the characters are all incredibly likable, there are tons of steamy scenes, humor and a good dose of suspense. The chemistry between Cassidy and Edensaw is palpable and spicy and his devotion to her will bring many hearts thudding and pulses racing. In addition to wonderfully developed characters, Awakened From Ice has a vivid setting, created and written in a way that brought me directly into the story. Another aspect that I enjoyed was the idea that this story took me back to the history and the very beginning of the first breed of werewolves – later expanding to how they have revolutionized over thousand of years.

I recommend this to anyone who loves spicy chemistry, hot alpha males, loyalty, devotion and the rockin world of the paranormal and werewolves. I truly cannot wait until the next story in this series and the next brother to find his mate, as well as delving deeper into the suspense of the good vs. evil aspect of the story. Awakened From Ice has the perfect ending to leave the reader wanting more and anxious for the next story!

    Highly Recommend

Better than average soft erotica, decent story line and could be a stand alone read.

Have read other books by this author and would read any future publishings by her.

    Was an ok book.

This book was a good read.It was a little boring in the beginning , but once there was some action and suspense thrown into the mix it got better.
This is book one in a series, so if you like it plan ahead and buy the next book, just because of the ending.

    Bleh

I was really really disappointed. The book started out well but quickly plunged into the abyss of horrendous immaturity. The dialogue was very poor and redundant. The characters lacked depth and discription. The plot was non existant and the relationship development consisted of nothing more than boy sees girl then sex and horrible and yet again redundent descriptions of sex. Expand your vocabulary please! Do not buy.

    Geographical accuracy

I wish writers would take an interest in accuracy when writing or at least let readers know they took creative license. You can't drive to Juneau. This author has combined to locations within Alaska. As someone who grew up in Juneau and lived near the Matanuska Valley, I was initially excited to read a book set in where i was born. But was disappointed. I only hope the book with caribou hunting is set elsewhere as there isnt a caribou heard anywhere near juneau.

    LOVED, LOVED, LOVED this book!!!!!!!!!!

I LOVE the hole story. I love how she makes them seem so real to me. I can't wait to read about the other Dire Wolfes finding there way in their new world. I also camt wait to see how they fight the evil they nneed to fight. Also can't wait to see if the brothers have the same hard time with their mates as well.

So if you like werwolves& read sci- fi you will LOVE this book if not then do not read it.

there were aspects I really liked and others that I thought were

there were aspects I really liked and others that I thought were very silly (they are given the ability to "listen" to the world around them so they awake
10,000 years later knowing perfect English, yet don's know what a car, house, clothes are etc) and I wish more would have happened during Tanner's
visit that made the idea of Cassidy needing to be turned immediately so urgent - he just shows up at the door running his mouth and that alone was fear enough
that her choice to wait was going to be taken if need be? liked the characters and overall story line - an original idea, but didnt understand all of it - if they were created to
defend against the "evil" werewolves, and they were the original, doesn't that mean the evil ones were descendants of them? ...enjoyed the writing style and will keep my eye out for more from this author.

    Great Read

This is the first book I've read by Marisa Chenery and I really enjoyed her writing style. Story kept me hooked and the characters were well developed. I would highly recommend this read to any one who likes paranormal romance. Not as good as Lauranne Doughner but almost.
