Overview

Kindara was a healer who could not heal the one thing that mattered most, her heart. Her mate was lost, murdered nearly thirty years ago, and she lived for only two things—finding medical care for her struggling Kind and protecting her grown daughter, Jierra, from the harsh realities of the world they occupied.

Rathan was the displaced king of demons bent on revenge against Kindara's family, her beloved brother in particular. Kindara was his means to an end.

He got more than he bargained for when he kidnapped her and separated her from her daughter...

Now they must work together to complete Kindara's quest...for if they don't, she and Jierra could be the next of their Kind to be lost...

Meet the Author

Who is Calle Jaye Brookes? Calle Jay is fun, playful, ironic, professional and sophisticated. She’s super-educated in the field of fiction and would spend most of her time walking around in “Book World” (or”eBook World”). Does she have slight control freak tendencies? Yep. Why else would she chose to self-publish? In her day job she gets to read romance novels. In her night job she gets to write them! Her favorite color is bold purple. She likes rock like Kid Rock, Shinedown, and Nickelback. Add in a bit of Anastacia and Adelle, too. She collects rocks. Watches crime dramas. Abhors Lifetime Movies and Titanic (especially Leo…) and refuses to read or write about sparkly teen vampires. She’s married to a cop she strongly suspects is a vampire. They’ve made vampire babies, too. They live in Indiana with their vampire relatives and their vampire dogs.

Give me a break some times that is what it takes to really be able to express yourself with out the restrictions of a publishing company breathing down your neck. Calle has a style that says " freedom at last". She gives the readers what the long for and takes them in the book as if they were the charters themselves. Before you know it your at the end longing for more, then saying to yourself , no way it can't end like this there has to be more. Till you start reading another of her books. I truely enjoyed reading this and look forward to making her books one of my must haves!

With this fifth book in the Dardanos series we get to see things evolving in the story line a little further. New characters are introduced and new dangers emerge. I've admired Kindara's kind compassionate nature and her no nonsense attitude from the first book. I loved seeing that she has the chance at all that she thought lost to her. Rathan is pushy and arrogant and makes me laugh. I was impressed that as soon as he hears the truth he does a one eighty on his behavior. He states repeatedly the he/they were wrong. He is so solicitous toward Jiearra and especially Kindara. He definitely has a hard time with the word "no" though. Adultish read
