    Very Good Read

Intimate insight into the BUSINESS of Church and what Bill has learned along the way. As the GM of a small business it was great to see how God has taught this man wisdom over the years. It also has me thinking about the potential for FT ministry should the opportunity ever present itself. I highly recommend it.

    I Also Recommend:

    Great, Concise Lessons on Leadership

This is vintage Bill Hybels. It's as if he condensed his most valuable leadership lessons into 2-3 page essays, grouped them together for relevance, & put it out there for the next generation of leaders to glean what they can from his years of leading Willow Creek. It's a great book for leaders at any stage in life & leadership.

    Read this once a year

For me, this book really brought out things that I could be doing to improve my Leadership effectiveness. I'm putting it on my reading list for once a year (maybe every other year at most).

    Genuine Glimpse of Hybels' Thoughts

I attended Willow Creek Community Church for about 10 years. I can hear Bill Hybels' voice in my head as I read the words. This is a genuine glimpse of how he thinks and reacts and talks. I gleaned a lot of wisdom from his 6x6 list. The "Blue Sky Day" and "Umbrella of Mercy" concepts have revolutionized my creative team meetings.

One of the book's greatest strengths is also sometimes a frustration. I am still not sure I have actually read every axiom. At the end of each short essay, there are other essays that pertain to the same topic with page numbers. I get sucked into following one of those links and then another and as much as I try, I can't read the book from the beginning. I find this neat, but I'd like to be sure I've read the whole thing!

The ebook version is really nice because the links at the end of the chapter are actually links that you can highlight and it will take you directly to that page.

I have purchased this book in hardcover and the e-book edition because now I have one to lend and one to keep for myself!
