Overview

A small town that has lived in seemingly charmed ignorance for generations finds itself thrown into a modern era of hate and revenge.
Gary Tatum battles intolerance, racism, and ethnic superiority with humor and sarcasm while Azalea Springs' least favorite son, Rusty Wicker, battles to keep the power that he has won through murder, intimidation, and the local drug trade.
Russell Vaughn is the big-time, small town lawyer who secretly struggles with his desire for revenge as he represents diverse clientele that reaches far beyond small town North Carolina.
Michael and Grace Fleming are the newcomers who are thrust into a conspiracy that pits Old South ideals against the progress of the New South. The final resolution leaves Azalea Springs shocked. . .and relieved!

Editorial Reviews

Amazon.com - Lewis Neidhardt
The heroes are ordinary people who are clueless to the depth of the corruption until the resolution. I'm looking forward to Tolley's next effort.

This book has many elements you might expect in a crime novel set in the Deep South- serious rednecks, evil klansmen, and corrupt law enforcement, but the characters do not behave in any way that you might predict. The author has a way of showing the human side of even the most evil character, as well as the "evil" in places you would least expect it.
Amazon.com - Jeanne Antos
Azalea Springs really delivered on several levels for me, and I definitely recommend this as a great read! The characters are very well drawn, and they seem quite lifelike in that they are not perfect, just human.
