Overview

What the mind forgets, the heart remembers.

A Thompson & Sons Story

Since the moment Katy Thompson transformed from annoying tagalong to desirable woman, Gage Jenick has awaited his chance. When she kicks her boyfriend to the curb, he doesn’t hold back—in spite of the next-day work assignment that will take him completely off the grid for two long months.

After a head injury sustained on a storm-swept road, Katy can’t remember her own email password, much less how the little pink “positive” on the pregnancy stick got there. Barring an influx of midi-chlorians, she’s at a loss to explain what happened, or when...or with whom.

Suddenly Gage is back in her life as if he has a right to be there. While she vividly remembers the crush she had on him, she’s no one’s charity case. But another thing she’d forgotten was just how stubborn Gage can be—especially when her domineering ex tries to stake a claim…

Warning. An unforgettable night that gets forgotten. A crazy redneck ex, and a hero who’s ready to take on the world, and his past, for his heroine.

This is book two of the Thompson & Sons series, which is a spin off of the Six Pack Ranch series.
As a fan of Vivian Arend I was really happy to get the ARC of this story and be able to review it.

This is the story of Katy & Gage.
After many years of kind of skirting around what each feels for the other, the night before Gage is supposed to go to work on the oil pipes up north Katy and Gage give into their attraction.
That night Katy makes a decision that has her skidding off the road and losing some of her memories, including what happened that night.
Once Gage comes back to Rocky Mountain House and looks Katy up, he learns that Katy has no memory of the night they spent together. Gage doesn't let this deter him on pursuing a relationship with Katy, even if Katy is hesitant about a relationship with Gage.

Like most stories by Vivian Arend this is no different in having intelligent and interesting characters, specially the lead characters.
I found this story hard to put down, and wanting to see what was going to come on next. I did found it a little short. But then a good book is never too long.

    Enjoyed this book

    ## Yes, I did enjoy this book for the most part. The beginning was fabulous. I loved how Ms. Arend jumped right into the story instead of chapters of useless information to set things up. After the accident Katy was a bit of a (w)itch but given that she was also pregnant I guess I can forgive her. Although she could have saved everyone a whole lot of grief if she had gotten the paternity test sooner. Gage on the other hand was drool-worthy for sure. Perfection personified. Their chemistry before the accident seemed so much more intimate than after. So even though I was racing through the first half of the book because I couldn't wait to see what happens, the second half was a slight disappointment. Not the worst but not the best. Falls right smack in the middle.

Another great read! Love this new series.

When we get our first glimpse of Katy in Rocky Ride, she's re-learning things after a devastating wreck. I was so glad that her book was next in the series, because I couldn't wait to find out more about her.

Gotta say that I love how Katy pretty much gets to a certain point and then takes no crap from anyone. Not her brothers, not her father, and not her baby daddy/love of her life! She was definitely sick and tired of being coddled and "protected" by all the men in her life and she wanted to get on with her own life and prove to everyone she could be strong again.

I felt so bad for Gage, so desperately wanting to reconnect with Katy and essentially walking into somewhat of a nightmare situation. But I loved how he handled it, never giving up and fighting for a relationship with Katy and their baby.

I could not love these characters more, and I absolutely cannot wait for more of this series. Vivian Arend always writes families so well, making each member so compelling I cannot wait to get to know them better and see what has changed with other characters too.

    ...?

Terrible review of the book... You do realize that midi-chlorians are a fake cell created by George Lucas... And that the bacteria found in TICK ovaries is called midichloria mitochondrii. Not midi-chlorians and is certainly not found in humans.
