Still a favorite after 2 years of reading...

While I see another reviewer's point (spelling problems), this is a fun book for toddlers (gee, you could just "correct" the problem while you read since most toddlers can't read "fishes" on their own... problem solved). We got this book for our 18-month old when we were getting ready to take one of her first plane trips. The story line involves Jane, a monkey who is on a search for a particular animal. She hops into her plane and flies through various ecosystems, looking for the animal. The storyline rhymes (I think this engages young kids) and the kids can "lift the flaps" to see if the sought-after animal lives in the particular ecosystem Jane is visiting. In any case, this worked great on our plane ride and is a favorite that, at 3.5 y.o., our daughter returns to again and again. Bright colors, nice rhyming, interesting animals.

    Incorrect Spelling

I always read through a book before I buy it for my children. I was shocked to immediately find the non-word fishes. Given the literacy problem in this country I cannot believe Baby Einstein's contribution. I also see that this book is available in Spanish, I sure hope they have the spelling right in that one. I just wonder if next is gooses and deers.

    Those poor feathers

The book is captivating for young children but beware of the chicken. My granddaughter keeps pulling out handsful of chicken feathers! Not good for little ones.

    Fun little book

My daughter enjoys making different faces with the mirrors on each page. Cute and vibrant drawings make this book a keeper in her collection.

Baby Einstein's Mirror Me Interactive Book

This book was a hit with my one year old nephew! I gave it to him as part of his Easter gift this year and he loved having it read to him. He seemed to be lulled by the words and sat quietly while I read it to him without even showing him the inside! The once he got those chubby little hands on it he would not let it go for hours! He loved seeing his face in the mirrors while I read along with words. He likes to carry it around the house with him and sit down and look through it like he is actually reading it and someday soon I know that he'll really be reading it to me. He was transfixed by the mirrors that are depicted on every page and the colorful illustrations. I love all of the Baby Einstein books but I am sure that this is my absolute favorite and my nephew's as well!

Wonderful book for a 2 year old

This book was given to us as a gift when my daughter was 18 months old. She loves lifting up the flaps and guessing what is underneath. We have read it so many times that she now tells us what is under each flap before lifting it up. She is still excited about every page. It is a great book and we love it. I highly recommend it.

    A Great Book for Toddlers!!!

This book is absolutely perfect for teaching toddlers their colors. I am teaching my son and nephew with the book and they are reallly doing well. The way that the pages are set up with the are perfect. It uses very relatable shapes and pictures to teach the colors in a way that they can understand.

    Clever teaching tool!

Julie Aigner-Clark is a genius! Her inventive products, exceptionally creative, are designed to entertain children while they learn. ¿See and Spy Counting,¿ is no exception. With an imaginative approach, this nifty little board book teaches numbers and counting through ¿seeing and spying¿ an object, and counting ¿how many¿ of those items appear in the picture. Each page features a different animal in an appropriate setting, such as a COW on a farm, and the text reads, ¿How many BARNS do you see? = 1. How many EARS does the cow have? = 2.¿ and so forth. This book counts from one to five, seven separate times; aptly applying repetition to reinforce learning. The colorful images are simply illustrated, and highly contrasted to the background, creating emphasis to stimulate babies interest, while providing preschoolers with supplementary lessons on colors, animals and everyday objects such as fish, flowers, and eyes. Children and parents alike will enjoy this clever teaching tool! Birth and up.

    This is an outstanding book!

Julie Aigner-Clark is a genius! Her inventive products, exceptionally creative, are designed to entertain children while they learn. ¿See and Spy Shapes,¿ is no exception. The cleverly written text is metrical in style, and teaches shapes and counting in an imaginative way - through ¿seeing and spying¿ the object by means of example. For instance, the reader sees a rabbit sitting in a garden with various items scattered about, and the poem on the left side of the book reads, ¿A CIRCLE is a crazy thing it has no sides, just one round ring. You¿ll see a CIRCLE on my nose ¿ now find five more beneath my toes.¿ The FIVE circles beneath the rabbit¿s toes are: a radish, a head of lettuce, an onion, a bug, and a watermelon. Each page of this little board book features a different poem, animal, and shape. Additional shapes include: triangle, square, oval, rectangle, star, and diamond. The illustrations are brightly colored, and are highly contrasted to the background, creating emphasis to stimulate babies interest, while providing lessons on shapes, numbers and counting, colors, animals and other everyday objects for preschoolers. This is an outstanding book! Birth and up.
