I actually went to buy the Itty Bitty hat book but B&M didn't have it. I saw this and got it right away. I know how to cast on, knit and pearl. That is it. I never knitted anything in my Life. The best part of this book is it has patterns that only require one or two different stiches. I am making the first item right now. I LOVE it. The only issues I have seen so far is that when I went to the craft shop they didn't cary the specified yarn and it doesn't give an alternative list. That stinks for the beginner because I don't know how to sub things yet. I can barely understand how to read the yarn (sarcastic). The other thing is I didn't know what darn meant and I had to read through the book to see what that meant. The definitions should be clear and easy to find. Other than that, this is perfect for a beginner. In my opinion, there is NO perfect beginner book. You have to subsidize books with on line videos. It is to hard to understand the verbage and illustrations when you are a beginner like me. You will like this book in particular because of the one or two stiches needed in patterns that you can do so easily. Great book.
