Editorial Reviews

Publishers Weekly
Books that unfold to double as a bumper pad in baby's crib or a patchwork blanket? That's the idea behind two titles from Sandra Magsamen: Baby Love and My Blanket. Each panel of Baby Love boasts a liftable flap in the shape of an animal's head, which reveals a clever answer to the question, "What did the mommy animal say to her baby?" ("I love you a ton," says the elephant mother). Each of the four squares of My Blanket sports a number sewn on the patch. Velcro snaps and a plastic pouch provide easy storage. Children's Literature - Marilyn Courtot
Baby Love is a large cloth book with a big red heart on the cover and a Velcro snap. Once opened kids see a white bunny and the question "What did the mommy bunny say to her baby bunny?" Lift the bunny face and you get the answer: "You're some bunny special." It continues accordion style with similar questions posed to a mommy elephant, cat, dog, and finally a human mommy. The puns will go over the babies' heads, but the message of love and caring will not. When the book is turned over, the cloth panels spell out "LOVE" A fairly engaging and more sophisticated cloth book than most. The book could also be used as a crib bumper.

This book is great for mommies and babies. It stays in my daughter's crib and we read it together all the time!

This book is so cool. My newborn loves looking at the pictures, and my toddler has the book memorized. I love how it folds out/stands up and you can use it for your baby to look at during tummy time. Wonderful message!!

We gave this book to some friends with an 8 month old and they love it! There's so much to touch and see while interacting with the book that you provide the child with lots of language models in a short story.

I bought this item in addition to several other items of the same nature for my daughter's Baby Shower. She loved all of them. I will continue to use Barnes & Noble as my first stop in Baby gift-giving!!

I bought this for my new grandaughter. The colors are great for babies and she can grow into the rest of the book.

We gave this book to my 15 month old for Valentine's Day. He loves to lift the flaps and see what is underneath while we are reading it to him and also during his alone time. Great quiet book for the diaper bag as well.
