Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Marilyn Courtot
In an introduction to the numbers 1 through 10 using things that babies would see, young ones are introduced to 1 cuddly kitty, 2 red shoes, 3 yummy bananas on up to 9 fluffy teddy bears, and finally 10 shiny stars. As with Katz's other board books, the images are bright and bold. Her stylized babies all have round faces, but she does present boys and girls of varying ethnicities. This is a sturdy, serviceable and rather hefty counting book that should appeal to toddlers and hold up to plenty of use. A good choice for preschools and libraries. Reviewer: Marilyn Courtot
