Overview

Recently divorced, forty-something Vicky Andrews desperately needs a life.
Finding her boss naked and dead at an open house she's hosting was not what she had in mind.
Wishing she'd spent more time reading Nancy Drew in her formative years, Vicky calls upon her own intuition and various investigative skills to try to find a piece of incriminating evidence the murderer thinks she has--before the murderer finds her.
She might decide that the world has it in for her if not for Detective Nick Carson, who shares frustration, information, and more than a few fantastic kisses as he tries to solve the case.
Throw in a rescued miniature dachshund, a skeleton named Max, and a coven of well-intentioned neighbors, and maybe, just maybe, Vicky has found exactly what she needs.

Hysterically funny! Its like Stephanie Plum meets the Golden Girls, complete with middle age mayhem, romance, mystery , and intrigue. A light hearted read definitely worth your time.

Why could Vicky be Stephanie's older sister? She's funny, goofy, cute, has entertaining oddball friends and neighbors, loves her family, and seems to attract both trouble and attractive men. This book was worth the $2.99 just for the "romantic" scene with a...skeleton. I'm not kidding.

Murder Mystery Spiced with Love and Chocolate! From the moment I read page 1, I loved this book! It is fast paced, a light read, filled with mystery, bat crazy old ladies, and some love. The author keeps the book light, even though there is this bizarre murder that takes place at a house that is for sale. I love the charm and quirkiness of Vicky’s character and she is one tough cookie! It’s a short read, however there is plenty of meat to this book to sink your teeth into. I would definitely rank this book as one of my top favorites in the genre of “chick-lit”! Anyone that wants a quick read, filled with some mystery and some speckles of love and chocolate, will certainly enjoy reading this book!-Books in the Burbs

* I received a complimentary copy from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. A spunky heroine, a well plotted mystery, and the start of a romance with a hunky cop. Vicky is a likable protagonist and I enjoyed the mystery. There were a few minor mistakes but nothing that was distracting. I definitely want to read more of Vicky's adventures.

1.5 stars for effort. I really wanted to like this book but it was stale & predictable. The story just dragged on & on. Not worth the time and money. ( an honest review)

I really enjoyed this book.  Newly divorced Vicky Andrews is just trying to earn a few bucks by acting as a hostess at open houses.  However, she never expected to find her boss dead in one of the bedrooms.  Three kids, two newly acquired dogs (including a rescued minature dachshund and a German Shepherd Guard dog) and one cute detective make things even more interesting as she decides to solve the case. This book had me hooked on Sunday (Chapter 1).  Good writing, interactive characters and interesting plot keep it moving along.  I like the way Vicky related to her mother as well as her neighbors which seemed both realistic and respectful. Thank you for a fun read.
