Best tour book about Backroads of France!

This book is amazing! Everyone of the 25 drives seem unique and wonderful. The hardest thing will be to narrow down which ones for you to do! I'd like to explore each of these regions after reading this book. The presentations and illustrations are exquisite, so that you can really imagine each town and area. The book is filled with practical information; entry times, prices and such as well as a brief history of the major landmarks. The book is quite comprehensive with activities to do and place to stay and eat. A nice feature is that the authors have suggestions at a variety of price points. Also, the suggestions to stay are at many places along each route so you can individualize your trip in numerous ways. If you want to explore France beyond the major destinations, this is the book for you.

I can't trust this book. I first used it for Drive 13 near Greno

I can't trust this book. I first used it for Drive 13 near Grenoble and loved it. Thoroughly enjoyed the places the book helped us discover.
This year we followed the instructions for Drive 5, Haute-Normandie, and discovered numerous flaws that caused us delays and frustrating
times where we drove in circles. The order of sites was incorrect, and it was absolutely impossible to follow the instructions to find the starting
point for the walk in the Forêt d'Eu and we drove in circles for long enough that we no longer had time for the walk. I had looked forward to trying drives
other years but don't want to drive in circles.

    great pictures and maps

I enjoyed this one, but it convinced us we'd prefer to have a driver so we can gawk at all the scenery and enjoy the wine. Loved all the photographs
