This book contains 20 projects all using charm squares. These packages of squares are very popular right now so you will be able to find a pattern/color that inspires you to create one of these quilts. There are even directions to make them if you don’t have the pre-cut squares.

Each project has a color photo of the finished item, with a small blurb about the project as well. Material and cutting lists, along with the rest of the instructions are clearly written and easy to follow. There are also enough graphics for those of us who like visual help. Unfortunately, the general “quilt as desired” is the only finishing suggestions.

Some of the patterns are for the more experienced quilter with inset seams. Most are done with straight seams or half square triangles. There is even a tree skirt but it is cleverly done as a square and then simply cut into a circle and bound.

While these are smaller projects, as all quilters know, you can just add a few more blocks and have the size you need. So even though it is written as smaller projects, if you find one that you love, just make more blocks!
