Let’s get this out of the way right up front: the best part of this book are the sex scenes. And even then, you might be left wanting.

So the story. We have Mia, an author who recently lost her beloved doggie. The fact that she is far more heartbroken over that than the loss of her marriage tells us two things: (1) she’s a dog lover and (2) her husband was Not A Good Person. She’s shy, a bit socially withdrawn, and likes to play things nice and safe.

She happens to meet Sax (the fact that his name COULD sound like “Sex” is, I am sure, not accidental), a fiddler in a band, and sparks fly. Sex – I mean SAX – is attracted to her innocence and lack of worldliness. She’s attracted to, well, him. There are bumps and potholes in their pursuit of romance, and all along we cheer on these two crazy lovebirds, hoping that they can find True Love and all that.

This is a breezy novella that is quick to read. Storm Savage peppers it with some decent sex scenes. But the hotness quotient is not terribly satisfying. Part of that, undoubtedly, is due to some of the cheesiest lines I have ever read.

    To whit:

    “Our chemistry is simply unreal.”

“I think I’m addicted to you.”

    “You’re doing great.”

“Must be from your soul touching mine.” (!!!!!! – I’m still laughing at that one.)

“Passion is everything. Without passion, you merely exist … but never truly live.”

    “That’s deep.”

Let’s just say that Storm Savage needed to write some super steamy sex scenes to top those awful lines. But she didn’t, and so we are left with a book that is mediocre at best.

The good news? It’s a fast read. The bad? It’s a silly, rather dull fast read.

Favorite Quote:  The way his hand glided over her was pure ecstasy. He had a deft touch for such a powerfully built male. She pushed the jacket off his shoulders, then slid his shirt up to bare that incredible chest and those perfect abs. Her lips went to his chest, kissing and licking a trail all the way down to his navel as he braced his weight above her.
