More About This Book

Overview

"If you've ever felt like you aren't the best Christian in the world, welcome to the club. For me, becoming a Christian was the easy part. What happened after is where I messed up..."

Praise for Rich Mussler's bad Christian

"You're holding a splendid collection of stories from the heart, mind and spiritual imagination of Rich Mussler. Like some people read websites and magazines, Rich reads people and situations. He looks closely at how God works among all the 'stuff' of humanity and daily life...

"Rich doesn't carry a Get Out of Misery Free card in his wallet. When he talks about God's lovingkindness and mercy, he's telling the truth from the depths of a life that has known its share of pain, disappointment and uncertainty." --- Marv Knox, Editor, The Baptist Standard

"As a fellow 'bad Christian,' I commend this book to you. If you struggle with living out your faith, if you wonder whether or not God is really in control, then bad Christian will bring you back where you belong...

"I read some books and then place them on the shelf. bad Christian is one of those books that will stay on my desk. That's where I keep books that matter to me." --- Stephen G. Hatfield, Ph. D., FBC Lewisville, Texas

"I admit it. Some days I'm a bad Christian. Maybe you've felt the same way. If so, this book is for you. " --- Rich Mussler

An anthology as much as a devotional as much as a study guide-Mussler keeps the narrative fresh; he's a natural teacher and storyteller. These two roles combine to excellent effect in bad Christian, equally suitable for extended reading or brief review in a time of particular need. Wonderful!

Bad Christian contained the author's usual brilliant humor, a description of images that made them seem so real (I could almost smell the mentioned apples) and valuable scripture references that supported each scenario. However, what I enjoyed most was how this book really spoke to me. I have recently experienced some circumstances in my life that have caused me to question my value and purpose for this life. Bad Christian reminded me that God has a plan and I just need to trust that it will be revealed to me when the timing is right. The book brought me a lot of comfort and for that I am very grateful!!! In bad Christian, the author presents a charming series of short stories about characters in everyday life situations. Each story is told from a Christian point of view. Don’t let the conciseness of the chapters lull you into thinking this is light fluff. Each story is filled with uncommon wisdom, love and compassion, and humor. You will see yourself in many of these situations and realize the hand of God is and always has been at work in your life. bad Christian is perfect for reading in small bites, a couple of stories at a time, but be warned, once you have started, it will be hard to put it down. Whether you are an experienced Christian or one who does not read “religious” books, bad Christian is for you. More than just chicken soup, bad Christian is truly comfort food for the soul.
