The bad girl who stole his heart …

Valerie Willis has done it all: tattoos, one-night stands, even strip poker. And now she can add getting a messy public divorce to that list. Back in her hometown of Rock Canyon, Val just wants to bury her head and wait for the scandal to pass. But when she suddenly finds herself at a singles' weekend face-to-face with former flame Justin Silverton, hiding from her heart—and the sexy Marine—won't be that simple.

Is just too good to let go …

It's been ten years since Justin kissed Val, but he still remembers the way they just seemed to … fit. Since then he's served his country and helped his father keep their ranch intact, but he's never forgotten Val or her wild ways. So when a twist of fate brings him the chance to chase her across state lines and spend a weekend winning her heart, Justin's all in. Because when he sees something he wants, he fights for it. And he's ready to fight for the right to call this bad girl his one and only.

Val + Justin = <3 <3 <3 I hate spoilers, so I won't give anything away, but just know that this book is awesome. I fell in love with these two and laughed my way through the rest of the book and all the great side characters. Codi Gary is awesome and I wish Rock Canyon was real! Want something fun, light, and romantic? This book's for you!

## OK, I have to admit, I was reluctant to read this because I absolutely hated Codi's "Rock Star" book. The hero in that story was an arrogant jerk. THIS hero was fabulous. He was kind, funny, patient and just overall hot. The heroine started off as kind of a witch, but redeemed herself big time. And the ending was marvelous....

Bad Girls Don't Marry Marines is a delightful story about rediscovering lost love.  Valerie Willis is recovering from a very public divorce in a hometown that would rather think the worst of her before giving her a chance. Valerie is constantly being manipulated by her father and his political ambitions.  Justin Silverton is a marine that has returned home to help save his father's farm. Being reunited with Val is chance he can't pass up. When they end up on a singles weekend together, the chemistry from so long ago reunites. The couple have a lot going against them. Mainly, a feud of sorts between their fathers. I really loved Valerie's take no crap attitude with everyone but her father. There does come a point when you recognize a toxic relationship are just that, toxic...even if it is your only surviving parent. Valerie's father is a piece of work. He is utterly ruthless and heinous in his conniving. Bad Girls Don't Marry Marines is an emotionally charged story that makes you feel passionately toward the outcome of the conclusion. It made me want to rally around the Willis sisters. For Codi Gary to pull me in and emotionally invest me in the story, I must give Bad Girls Don't Marry Marines 4 stars.

Bad Girls Don't Marry Marines is such an awesome story.  Cody Gary brought to life two very different, yet very compatible characters into the throws of a passionate, combustible romance that will sweep you off your feet. Set in a small town in the midwest, both characters have been through many twists and turns themselves before their moment comes to light.  A tale of betrayal, family, and most of all true love weaves its way into your heart for a great storyline.  Justin Silverton, an ex-marine now farmer on his family's farm, has spent the last 12 years wondering about the one girl who got away.  The one girl he connected with for just a night, yet in the end, lost her even before it began; thanks to the hatred of her very controlling father. Justin is funny, passionate and loyal to those he cares about.  He's wiling to put his heart on the line just to have the one woman he's longing for...Valerie. Valerie Willis, is a misunderstood woman whose father is a politician and is ever so controlling of every detail in her and her sister's lives.  Having been recently married and divorced, Val moves back to her home town and starts a new life there.  She had always followed her father's wishes or orders.  Marrying who he wanted, doing whatever he told her to do...but now a grown woman, she has her own idea of how she wants to live her life.  However, when she runs across Justin- her unceasingly attentive white knight- in the grocery store, feelings begin to stir inside her that she thought were buried and gone.  Feelings she soon found out that she couldn't reject and her father wouldn't accept! I was captivated from the very beginning and throughout the whole book.  I didn't want to put it down until I was done.  This story will do that to you.  This author never ceases to amaze me with her beautiful stories of love and romance, along with filtering twists and turns.  Will love conquer all?  Can two people love each other in such dire circumstances?  Will Valerie break loose from her father's controlling grip and finally be happy with the one man who can love her unconditionally?  Read the book to find out, I promise you won't be disappointed!  Excellent job, Codi Gray!  You ROCK... Gr¿ta Overall Rating:  4 Rockin Stars Hero -   Justin Silverton 4.5 stars Heroine -  Valerie Willis 4.0 stars Steam Level: 4.0 stars Plot: 4.0 stars Cliffhanger: No Would I recommend this book: Yes! Would I read other books by this author: Yes! ***Received an ARC of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review***

Copy received from: TastyBookTours for an honest review What a great story! This is my first time reading Codi Gary, but definitely not my last! The writing was fantastic!  I loved the storyline and I loved the hero and heroine!  This was not a cut and paste kind-of-story.  This was about real people looking for love.  I really enjoyed it and look forward to reading more books by Codi Gary!

Could not help but love Justin and Valerie... She had been through hell and back with a crazy power hungry father and an arranged marriage that blew up in her face... Maybe she was a bit too "gun shy" in the beginning but she certainly had a right to be... I am sure there will be future books about Caroline and Ellie (Valerie's sisters) and I hope so... These "wild child" sisters all have good hearts and I am sure the next books by Ms. Gary will be equally entertaining... Enjoyed this book very much... Set in a small town where everybody is in everybodys business adds to the enjoyment.

Val has lived with a despising father her whole life. Threatening her to get what he wants and never caring if she was happy. After years of being with the wrong man. Going through a divorce that took everything out of her. Val, is well a little boring. She's sworn off men and would rather watch Shark Tank. In little ol' Rock Canyon, gossip is bigger than anything. When a rumor circulates about Val, I can see why she would rather sit on the couch. Then one day she runs into Justin, a man who in some ways stole a part of her when she was just a teenager. "If you're living your life for you, it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks. But I wouldn't let past mistakes and fears keep me from being happy." Of course her father forbids it but there's no way to block true love. This story is in some parts hilarious, some parts passionate. About two people who really, really get each other. And when you find someone like that, you better fight not to lose it. "I will always be here, Val. There's nowhere else I want to be but by your side." Every time I open one of Codi's stories, it almost has this homie feel. I normally don't like books that are third person. But this is an example of when it's done right. She's able to convey the characters emotions and your able to really feel for them. I'm really loving this series....Lissa

I am so glad that I read Bad Girls Don't Marry Marines; Justin and Val have both faced hardships in their lives and although hers was a life that many would envy, I think hers was the harder of the two. His father was a drunk and his mother died much to early. Her mother died young, but her father was never a father. His sole role in life was to run for office and serve as a politician and his daughters' role was to support those election. After a failed marriage that he arranged, Val feels like a failure and has no interest in marriage or in men, that is until a man from her post refuses to give up. Now Val is ready to shake off the shackles of her father, or at least wants to. but she finds it especially difficult when he is not above using pressure to get her to do what he wants, whether it is the whether or not thing, just as he has always done. When I won this book and another at a book launch I was a little unsure this one one I would enjoy, but I see those contests and prizes as an agreement to provide an honest review as much as when an author makes that offer directly. I am so glad I did not give up based on the title, I really enjoyed this one too. They were totally a winning package for me.

So he went the Marines.. The characters of Justin and Valerie are sweet but not annoyingly so and they are very real. You care for them and what happens to them. Lots of humor too. Great love story.

I really enjoyed this book. Had not read the previous one and may have to get it! I liked that there was a reconnecting to "love lost" and the underlining tensions. What actually held my attention, besides a seemingly really cool former marine, was the humor in the book. It made for a more 'normal' life story. Does that make sence? Anyway, I'll be reading the next book (got to see how the other characters lives turn out). I'd say this was a fun read.
