Sky King is a cross between Louis L'Amour and Larry McMurtry with a dash of Elmore Leonard thrown in. Why haven't we heard more from him? Where is this guy hiding out? I hope whereever it is he's writing his next western.

Bad River is definitely a great read. S.J. King developed a taut plot, empathetic characters, and page turning suspense. Although this is a must read for western fans, readers of any genre will relish this novel. King is knowledgeable about the time and the people and authentically delivers his story to the readers. I especially appreciated his use of the vernacular of the time. Most particularly however, Bad River is a page turner that's difficult to put down once you pick it up. I await the next novel by S.J. King.
