    A little to short....

I guess... I wanted more. Chapters lost place to where character A was from Character B. It left you on such a hang note.... to where then next book might be going but then even then... your not sure if you would want to read it. It had a lot of places it could have gone.... but it stopped a little to short.

Good read but author needs to combine stories

Olivia and Garricks story was a good read but way too short at just over 100 pages. I think this could have been combined with the next story. I hate it when a story is broken up into multiple short ones. Still a good read...

    Ok?

Should have finished the story instead of making a sequel.

Nicely done. The heroine is dumb, but when aren't they. Loved the action...and the sex

    terrible, with a capital T

I love Vivi Anna, but this one is the pits. Not against any sex, even erotica, this book is all sex. No story, just sex, sex, sex! Sorry Vivi Anna, but can not recommend this. If any of my fellow book readers like this type of book then it is for you. 1 star, didnt even want to give it that, but was that was the least that i could rate it.

    Hmm...

I liked ok I guess. I would have liked it better if the main character was younger. When he read her license it said she was born in August 1965 which would have made her 46. At one point he tells her to go home and have kids with someone. Isn't that a little old to be having babies? That took me out of the story. Overall it was an okay read especially for free but I'm not sure I will buy the second one for the simple fact that Olivia is pushing 50. Not that that's old in real life just way too old for this kind of story to be believable.

    Too short

It started off well and the big let down was really the way it ended. As others have said, would have been better if it had continued insteaad of being broken up into another book or two. Not sure I want to read part 2 as it may end in the same manner and lead to book three. This story was just too short to have such a cliffhanger! Didn't allow for enough character background & details in my oppinion. Story wasn't bad, just too short.

    Not a full story

It is ok. I am still up in the air whether or not it would be worth to purchase a full story. I guess I would like to see where it would go. It ends on part of Chapter 1 page 113.

    Pass.

Eh...it's ok but doesn't really draw me to want to buy the next book. Olivia bugs me too much to care to continue. She's inconsistent but it seems like it's the writing- not a purposeful thing. In one breath she's thinking of how she's going out fighting Garrick- and the next she's ready to jump his bones. All on one page. And then- towards the end- the blood was getting to her? Really? Isn't she supposed to be an experienced EMT? Blood and guts should not bother her. Just saying... I won't be continuing this series.

    Novella Fell Short.

Novellas are tricky in that the author has a limited amount of pages to create a connection between characters and readers. With more pages and a little extra plot, this book would have been very good.

First, let me say I enjoyed Ms Anna's writing style. Voice is important, and that kept me reading. Unfortunately, the characters hit the page and there wasn't enough development for me to really connect to them.

Olivia is an EMT. Cool. A caring, nurturing, possibly hero-type personality. When push comes to shove, she shoves back. So when her character goes from "I'm going to rip this psycho kidnapping killer's eyes out" to "I want to jump his bones" in an abrupt 180...without any explanation why...I hit my first serious disappointing hurdle.

Garrick Blackthorn is an interesting character. He's built and gorgeous and clearly alpha. His preternatural disposition is obvious to anyone that reads the genre. Initially, he's true to his "do the job" attitude. One he never wavers from. But then he does...again, without a real explanation. His inconsistent character responses were the second disappointing hurdle.

Then there's the final conflict, which wasn't bad as far as novellas go. The resolution for Garrick's situation is plausible...but Olivia's reaction is clearly whacked. She's spent one day with Garrick, slept with him a couple of times, and she's prepared to make life-altering decisions immediately. At 40'ish (though she sounded 25'ish) I was shocked by the drastic reaction without any real reason. And that was the third disappointing hurdle.

Will I read the next book in the series? If it's a full-length novel, yes. If it's another novella, I'm not so sure.
