Library Journal
Avery began making handbags because she couldn't afford to buy all of the bags she liked in stores, and her hobby quickly became a full-time business. In her first book, she presents a collection of easy-to-sew handbags, totes, and specialty bags, giving enough information on design techniques to inspire readers to create their own bags. The step-by-step instructions are clear and easy to follow, although a few more illustrations of some of the trickier steps would have been nice. While crafters of all ages might enjoy this book, it's an especially good choice for libraries with groups of younger crafters, including teens.
