KLIATT - KLIATT Review
This wonderful book contains a variety of handbag projects made from handmade paper. Handmade paper can produce durable handbags provided the proper backing and lining are used. Each project is accompanied by detailed instructions, at least one full-color photograph and an itemized list of necessary materials. Handbags include clutch bags, bags with a wide variety of handles, and bags made out of many different papers. Information is also included about applique, transferring images to paper, and making paper from liquid clay. Details on how to personalize the bags with brooches, charms, trinkets and other found objects accompany instructions on how to use embossing enamels and metals on paper. Isobel Hall is well known as a teacher who specializes in creating beautiful handmade and functional paper handbags. This resource is an ideal book for both beginners and seasoned crafters alike. These bags are truly works of art. Age Range: Ages 12 to adult. REVIEWER: Shirley Reis (Vol. 42, No. 1)
