Nearly a year has passed since the events of their first visit. Mikal, the young crown prince, is happy, healthy, and adapting well to living on a strange new world with his bodyguards. However, a devious plot has been hatched, one that will force the young prince to return to his homeland.

When Steve gets a mysterious message that says a member of the royal family has been abducted, he makes the decision to return to Lentari, with his wife, so they could aid the rescue party. Mikal is left safe and secure back in Coeur d’Alene with Annie, Sarah’s sister, and Tristan, his tutor. When Mikal sneaks through the portal to try to help, his presence in Lentari becomes known, and draws the attention of the Ylanian wizard who desperately wants to get his hands on him.

Battling thieving invaders, outsmarting repulsive trolls, and trying to stay one step ahead of a wizard bent on acquiring Mikal at all costs, Steve and Sarah must use all the powers at their disposal to keep their young charge safe.

    Return to Lentari!

Bakkian Chronicles, Book II - Insurrection by Jeffrey Poole is the second book taking place in the world of Lentari. When Steve gets a message from the world of Lentari he and Sarah know something is drastically wrong. The Queen has been kidnapped! They decide to head back to lend their powerful jhorun's to the chase. Leaving Mikal with Sarah's sister Annie and Trisan, his bodyguard from Lentari they hop through the portal and return to the magical land.

The action in this book picks up much faster than it did in the first of the series. Since almost of the characters have been introduced you are dumped straight into an exciting chase as Steve and Sarah try to stop the kidnappers before they reach the border. The second in the series keeps all the strengths of the first and Jeffrey has grown a bit as a writer leading to a more polished book.

This book appeals to the same audience as book I although I believe there was a little bit more profanity this time. No f-bombs or anything just a few more swear words used. I am going to be looking forward to the third book in the series with a great deal of interest. Jeffrey has created a truly wonderful world populated with interesting and believable characters. If you have even the smallest interest in fantasy pick up the first book in the series and you will get sucked in.

    The Bakkian; Insurrection

Being a lover of well-written works, I must say that I found this book to be entirely entertaining. What fun to read two such books from a new author. Scenes were clearly described and the action moved at such a pace that there really was no good place to pause in my reading. I felt the need to keep going and had a thoroughly enjoyable time. My favorite moment of all, however, was when the little Welsh Corgi met the emerald dragon and decided that the dragon was a new member of its own pack. I found the cover illustration to be an accurate visual of that event, which enhanced the scene for me. Truly, I don't know when I have had any more fun with a series of book than I have with these. Congratulations are definitely in order, and I eagerly await the third book in the set. Thank you for your excellent writing!

    Good, lite fantasy read

This book serves as an excellent work for people wanting a foray into the fantasy genre but want something lite and readable to start. Very good, clean, non-violent plot.

    Great read

I enjoyed the first book, and was very happy to read this one.

A fun fantasy, with an interesting plot, and good character development. It's an easy, yet very enjoyable escape book.

    Still good

Read both books and the second is as good as the first. A little bit more 'grown-up' than the first one. Meaning that there is some inuendo and slight cursing but nothing drastic. The story still holds up well even when things are a little predictable but then again.... i prefer it that way. And what is important to me is that I read without skipping even a passage! That to me is an enjoyable read!
Seems there is a third book in the works and I know I will keep an eye out for it!
Just one request to the author- it seemed that towards the end there was a break made where maybe a little more detail would have tied up the ends better. I felt somewhat hurried into the ending, as you had your character stating "flying-faster-than-crap" kind of ending... stick to your level of detail- especially at the end! And thanks for sharing your beautiful imagination!

    Part 2 lots of fun

Enjoyable read but not a stand alone novel, you MUST read part one before reading this book. Excellent book with very mild cursing, great reading for ALL age levels. The action is fast and keeps this reader turning the pages to see what comes next. Satisfactory ending with a hint of more to come without the feeling of being left with a cliffhanger ending that frustrates.

    Great storytelling!

I loved this book as much as the first. However, the many typos and grammar made this one a much harder read than other should have been. The mixture of fantasy characters and amazingly realistic makes both of these a much higher caliber or novel. I'd love to see this made into a movie series like the Hobbit, Star Wars, or Harry Potter.

    Entertaining

Light and funny. Love the dragons. Its nice the author does not have to resort to bad language or bad romance to keep the story alive.

    Loved it!!!!

Have read both books and cannot wait for the third book to come out. Plot was easy to follow, if u paid attention. Loved the way things were described and it felt like i was actually there. I will definitely be looking for more books from this author. Which is saying alot, because if a book does not catch my attention within the first chapter, i put it down.

    Fun concept

This is a fun and well-written series. I would recommend reading the first book first, as this second one has little background information, and was not intended as a stand-alone story.

    Enjoyed it

After getting the first book in the series for free and really enjoying it, I decided to buy the 2nd one. This book continued with the same interesting characters and some new problems. Her blog says she is in the process of writing her 3rd book in the series. Can't wait!

Just as good, if not better, than the first.

A great entertaining read! It has plenty of action and adventure to keep you turning the pages. It probably won't win any great awards or accolades, but it is just plain good, fun (clean, except for a little cussing) fiction. You will enjoy reading, and will definitely want to read the final book when it releases

If you liked or enjoyed the first book you must read this one!

I honestly enjoy this series. I liked the first book and I love the world Jeffrey Poole has created, but the story and his writing get even better in the second book! So excited to see this series continue! Looking forward to more Lentari adventures!
