    Really great!

Usually a manga series starts to decline in quality a bit after the first few volumes, but not Bakuman. While this isn't a manga that leaves you on the edge of your seat at the end of every volume, it is highly enjoyable and fun. There were quite a few plot twists that I wasn't expecting inthis volume and new characters. Possibly the best volume in the series so far.

    Pretty good.

We get more properly introduced to the first of Ashirogi's rivals-Eiji Nizuma. He's definitely not as arrogant as he first seemed, though he still acts fairly childish. We also get some news about how Miho is starting to get her dream job on track by starting off small. And, at the end, the main duo finally gets an idea for a manga going.

It's still kinda sexist (though what did you expect given that the authors were the creators of Death Note?). but it keeps getting better as it goes along. If you like action-y manga...it's probably NOT your kinda manga to read. But if you like a good story, then check it out, as it's pretty good.

    Fukuda Sensei…I’m deeply moved!
My favorite one so far, book three features lots of Eiji Nizuma who I really enjoy, and some surprise plot developments which change his relationship with Mashiro in particular. I keep waiting for them to explain what’s up with those weird winged pens Nizuma is always sticking into his clothing, maybe it’s supposed to be obvious, but I’ve never seen such a tool before, perhaps for smudging or dry-brushing? I’m really impressed with this series so far, check out page 186 where Mashiro instantly wakes up, throws off his covers, strikes a pose and checks his cell phone at the same time. Awesome! Too bad my library doesn’t have book four! Guess I’ll have to keep my eye on that box set…
