Goldner's writings on Balanchine are the best. She outflanks Arlene Croce, who too often went for effects and flaunted her own attitude. Goldner hears the music and knows the steps. Moreover she cares enough about the reader not to show off. Balanchine was right to invite her to watch private practice sessions. He appreciated her gift for seeing and hearing what he was doing. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.
