Overview

From the USA Today and Internationally bestselling author of The Club Series, Lauren Rowe, comes a sexy standalone romantic comedy: Ball Peen Hammer.

Keane Morgan wouldn't return any of my calls or texts, and I was pissed as hell about it. I didn't want to drive from Seattle to L.A. with the guy any more than he wanted to drive with me, but I had no frickin' choice in the matter--at least, not if I wanted to use his brother Dax's coveted parking spot at UCLA.

Okay, so it turned out Keane was objectively gorgeous, and, fine, pretty funny, too. But did he have to be so damned in love with himself? I mean, jeez, the cocky way he flashed those dimples was just so orchestrated. And, honestly, what kind of guy uses the phrase "baby doll" with a straight face? Oh, that's right: the kind of guy who's a male stripper.

Yup, the cocky jerk turned out to be Seattle's answer to Magic Mike, a stripper known as "Ball Peen Hammer"--which meant Keane Morgan was emphatically not the kind of guy I'd ever fall for.

Not. At. All.

No freakin' way.

Well, until Keane convinced me to fall for him, that is.

Which I did.

Hard.

NOTE:

Ball Peen Hammer is a full-length, standalone sexy romantic comedy about Keane Morgan (one of four Morgan brothers introduced in The Club Series) and Maddy Milliken (the little sister of Hannah Banana Montana Milliken).

Although Keane and Maddy's love story is set in the universe of The Club Series, it is a standalone novel with no cliffhanger and no prior reading required. Due to strong language and sexual content, this book is not intended for readers under the age of 18.

Oh how I loved this book!!! Lauren once again mixes the right about of laugh out loud funny, sexual tension, and total hotness. This was a great standalone that kept me up late hours of the night because I just couldn't put it down. If you enjoyed The Club books you will love this one just as much. Lauren has got me saying all kind of Keane-isms now, and I smile every time I do. Must buy. Must read.

I am a HUGE Lauren Rowe fan so from the moment that I started Ball Peen Hammer I knew that it was going to blow my mind, rock my world, and set my girlie bits on fire. Sure enough, when I finished the last chapter it was just like a line taken directly from the prologue: " I am gone. Stick a fork in me. I'm done." The novel revolves around Keane "Ball Peen Hammer" and Maddy "Mad Dog" Milliken, two total strangers that end up on a road trip that will change both of their lives forever. It's the strength of Lauren's writing and limitless talent that makes their emotional and physical journey tangible to the reader. The two main characters are part of the reason BPH is so special. Make no mistake about it, Keane Morgan owned me from the very first line of the novel. How can a girl go wrong with "Seattle's answer to Magic Mike?" Physically, he is every woman's dream. He is tall, gorgeous and has a body designed for sinning. The rock hard abs, beautiful smile, sexy dance moves and dimples that are to die for completely slayed me. His sex appeal is off the charts, but it's his personality that grabs ahold of your heart and won't let go. Not only is he "happy and handsome all the live long day" but he has a way with words that will leave you in stitches! Some of his lines had me howling to the point that I was screaming out loud. The tongue twisters, references to pickles, and songs about d*** pics had me flatlined. GONE! Lauren's sense of humor truly shines through Keane's words. And don't get me started on how sexy Keane is. Everything about him screams hot sex on a platter. He is self-confident, charismatic, and cocksure. Seriously, this man damn near gave me a heart attack. When he bragged about what women can smell on him my heart was pounding so hard I could practically hear him telling me to check my pulse! *swoon!!* Maddy is Keane's perfect compliment. She is clever, headstrong, ambitious and calls Keane on his **** when she needs to do so. Her witty sarcasm, insecurities and sweet ways made me fall in love with her character. The chemistry between these two is off the charts from the jump! You can't help but root for their relationship to intensify from friends to lovers! Now it's no secret that Lauren writes smoking hot sex and BPH does not disappoint. I know I was looking crazy fanning myself while I was reading! This book has one of the most moving, poignant love scenes that I have ever read in a romance novel...pure magic. Not only was it erotically stimulating, but I found the interaction between Maddy and Keane so emotionally transcendent that I teared up, and that's saying something! This book had me staying up straight Lionel Richie style...All Night Long baby! The bottom one is that I didn't think Lauren could outdo the divine original that is Jonas Faraday or the way that she applied the "Allegory of the Cave" to "The Club" Series, but damn if this woman isn't an intellectual and creative genius. If you haven't read The Club and the follow up novels you better get on that, STAT! I received an ARC for an honest review, and trust me when I say that BPH is the feel good novel of the year! 10 out of 5 stars...And that my friends is one of the many reasons that "I love {her writing} the most!"

Keane Morgan is definitely a one of a kind book boyfriend! I was a little unsure of Keane at first. His immaturity, strange mannerisms and speech had me a little confused. He seemed to be notoriously flakey and self-absorbed and whole lot of CRAZY! To say he is funny as hell is an understatement. He had me laughing out loud, literally, countless times. The guy’s mind is like a sexually charged, run-away freight train. But once I gave him a chance I found out there was so much more to him than his larger than life personality. His over-confidence became rather charming. And holy mother of book boyfriends, the guy is insanely educated and talented in the bedroom. I had me some full body tingles and shivers going on. Legit! I’ve read quite a few sexy stripper books that claim to be the literary equivalent of the Magic Mike movie, but this is the first time I can say I have found a stripper story I loved just as much as that movie!

Lauren Rowe's "Ball Peen Hammer" is a great read. You can read it standalone, but you will want to read her other books after reading this anyway, so I recommend starting with The Club #1 and fully enjoying everything! It's all amazing. In BPH, I love that they have their own inside jokes and a shared language. I love their dialogue. You really feel like you're right there on the road with them. And, as usual, the sex is H-A-W-T! I want to read more about the Morgan boys, I hope that's what's coming next from Lauren Rowe.

Peenie I see now that I was late to the bandwagon on the Lauren Rowe train. This book left me speechless, the characters, banter, and the all around dialogue will leave you laughing out loud throughout the entire book. Mattie is the kind of heroine that every women is tired of being, you know the one who is always classified as a friend and treated as one of the guys. What I found totally adorbs about her is that she comes off sweet an caring but rile her up and the sassy spitfire that she truly is is unleashed. Keane "Peenie" Morgan is Ball Peen Hammer stripper extraordinaire who believes that that there isn't a woman around that he can't have. Doing a favor for his brother leads to Mattie and Keane on a road trip where conflicting emotions and chemistry that won't quit come into play. I love a romance where friends become lovers and it develops into a love of a lifetime. I'm definitely a fan Lauren Rowe and can't wait to see where she takes me next.
