    Great Book

    If you are thinking about owning a Ball/Royal Python or you have foolishly purchased one before you new what you were getting into (like I did) this is indeed the book for you. Balls are wonderful snakes for beginners and experienced herpers alike but if you are'nt informed about your animals 'BEFORE' you aquire them it can lead to seemingly endless headaches for you and possibly the death of your snake. This book is especially helpful in the area of feeding approaches and tips. Take care,read up, and enjoy your snake(s). God Bless.

    all around great book

    This book gives up to date information on everything.It has a section with color photos of different morphs.It also has charts of different disorders and how to treat them.Another thing it has is a section on breeding.I have read articles by Phillipe De Vosjoli and Roger Klingenberg in a couple of reptile magazines.Dave and Tracy Barker are very well known herpetologists.

    An excellent book!

    This book provides exstensive information on the care, breeding, and health of the magnificent ball, or royal, python. It includes lots of information on how to get stubborn individuals to feed, a common problem with this species. The section on health has a chart where you look up the body part, look for the symptoms , find out the cause and the solution. For those interested in breeding, there is plenty of information from the Barkers, probably the best in ball python breeding. The center has color photographs of some of the most popular color morphs and there are B&W pictures throughout the book. I highly recommend this book!

    This book is ok

    This book is ok. It had some good tips in it, but it mainly focused on ball pythons that were taken from the wild. The book gives in depth instructions on how to get your wild born ball ready for captivity and how often it needs to be held and it also give a lot of detail on how to get the wild caught python to eat and the various diseases that the snake may have. If you are a new owner of a captive bred ball or would like some in depth details about breeding and problems that may occur with a ball this is not really the book for you. This book also gives descriptions of the different colorings of balls and had very good pictures illustrating the different color patterns on the snakes. It gives tips on breeding and how different types can get different results
