But when they do, they're horrified to discover patches of the ivy have been ripped away! Who would want to sabotage the stadium? Is it someone trying to curse the Cubs? Or is the rumor of a treasure hidden under the ivy tempting greedy fans? The Wrigley Riddle includes a fun fact page about Chicago's Wrigley Field.

Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Denise Daley
Even young readers who may not be very interested in sports will find this book entertaining and enjoyable. Kate and Mike are cousins who have been hanging out at Chicago's famous Wrigley Field. Kate's mom is a reporter for a sports website and she takes Kate and Mike with her while she interviews Chicago Cub's players. Kate and Mike see and learn many things about the fascinating history of Wrigley Field, including the famous ivy-covered walls. They are shocked to discover that someone has been stealing the beloved ivy but they think they know who the culprit is. Together they devise a plan to ensnare the thief. Will their simple scheme work? There is a twist at the end that will take young readers by surprise. Intended for emergent readers, the writing is direct and the vocabulary is simple. There are one or two black-and-white illustrations in each chapter. This, combined with the fast pace of the book; will keep readers engaged and anxious to learn what will happen next. The book concludes with facts about Wrigley Field. This book is part of the "Ballpark Mysteries" series. Reviewer: Denise Daley
