Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Tiffany Torbeck
After opening with the Super Bowl winning season, this informational book about the Baltimore Ravens begins to drag. The history of the team is interesting, with the former Baltimore Colts secretively moving to Indianapolis in the dead of night. However, the early seasons are presented in a rather dull way, listing former players and stats with little content to hold everything together. This book does not shy away from some of the players' bad behavior, mentioning that players like Ray Lewis have been in legal trouble. Michael Oher, probably the Ravens' most notable player, is also featured in a profile, which will please both serious fans and more casual readers. An index and glossary are included, although vocabulary words are never highlighted in the text. This is a serviceable text, but it lacks some of the passion of other team profile books. Some libraries needing to update their collections may be interested, but most libraries can pass. Reviewer: Tiffany Torbeck
