Editorial Reviews

From Barnes & Noble
In one sense, Lily Walsh had waited her entire life for this Hawaiian visit to her brother. But when the circumstances change suddenly, Lily realizes that much more than her vacation is being threatened. A sensitive novel about the testing of spiritual values.

    So Amazing!

This book was amazing! I couldn't put it down, I usually read books based in the 1800's, Civil War, Southern Plantations kind of things but I was in a hurry in the library and scanned the back and grabbed it and went and boy was I glad! It was charming and at some points it had me on the edge wondering what was going to happen. I think it was so wonderful that Lily had such a wonderful relationship with God! When I read this book I think it helped with my own relationship with the Lord.

I don't know how so many people have given this book 5 stars. I

I don't know how so many people have given this book 5 stars. I have read Lori Wick's "Californian series" and loved it. After reading the summary of this book I thought it sounded really interesting, especially since I love Hawaii. It was not what I expected at all. This book was very dull and boring. The characters were very unrealistic and the country that Lilly is from is also made up. I did not like how the characters felt that they had to apologize constantly for everything and anything. No one is that perfect! Also, Lilly is described very childlike and the other adults sometimes talk to her as if she were a child. So, when she and Gabe became involved it was weird to me. I felt like she was some little girl with an older man. It did not work. The end of the book did get a little better, but do you really want to read 200 dull pages for 20 mediocre ones? After reading this book I have removed all of Lori Wick's books from my wishlist because this was a major disappointment!

    A Wonderfully Blessed Book!

I like everything that Lori Wick writes and this book is no different. I love the way she transports me to where ever it is her stories take place. What truly impressed me with this book was all of the research she had to have done on Kashien and their culture. It was so interesting. Of course, the romance was the main reason I bought the book and she didn't let me down. I highly recommend this book to anyone that enjoys a good romance with a little bit a humor.
