Their success as home decorators and renovators have made Cassell and Parham regular guests on British TV shows. They share their expertise in several do-it-yourself guides, many of which are now available in Spanish as part of the Prepare and Renovate series by Spanish publisher Edimat. For their detailed instructions and simple language, these beautifully illustrated books are perfect for both amateurs and experts, from homeowners who need to repair and remodel their houses to new immigrants who want to make a start in construction and home improvement. After a brief introduction, the authors examine the detailed anatomy of the topic in questionbathrooms, windows and doors, stairs, walls. A chapter called "Planification" follows, dedicated to the various options for change, the necessary tools and materials, and to choosing the appropriate style and accessories when renovating a room. Readers can then follow step-by-step illustrated instructions for different installation procedures, including such difficult tasks as setting up doors and bathroom parts, insulating floors and windows, and installing tubing, as well as easier feats like adding last minute decorating details and accessories. All the books end with repairing techniques and a useful glossary of construction terms. An excellent addition to all public library and technical school collections. For its price, the whole series is also highly recommended for all bookstores. Other titles include Cocinas (Kitchens) and Paredes y techos (Walls and Ceilings).
