He is a bold and independent thinker, an able polemic, and a scholarly and voluminous writer, having published several works, the ablest and most learned being "Old Testament Ethics Vindicated." After many years of pastoral work, he has devoted himself for the last two years exclusively to the work of an evangelist in which he has been eminently successful."
