This book ( and I assume all of the Mumford series of books) is a hard read for three reasons. First this was written in 1918 and although Mumford was the grandpappy of western novels as we know them he had a habit of most of his characters speaking in slang terminology. Slang is fine if one or two are doing it but when almost everyone chimes in it ceates readers madness! Two, is the misspells coupled with a multitude ofslang being spoken is simply frustrating to no end! Three, Mumford is on one track of thought and then jumps to some other thought and it is disconcerting and injurous to story telling and plot lines. Too many mistakes and too many typos and too much money to spend to invest in this disasterous book or series! I have been ripped of by B&N again!
