Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Melissa Zanot
This book is from the "African-American Biography Library" and is part of a series that includes other prominent African American figures including Ida B. Wells Barnett, Muhammad Ali, and Zora Neale Hurston. This is an excellent resource book that include a table of contents, index, chapters, and chapter notes. Any teenager, or adult, who is studying Barack Obama could use this as a resource book. It starts with his childhood, life with Tutu and Lolo, and moves to his presidency, the journey we continue today. Each chapter deals with a struggle and a success for a man who wondered where he fit in the world. There are also wonderful illustrations that include maps, snapshots, and other pictures. Each chapter includes side notes that help bring the chapter into better focus. This book should be read by anyone who wonders who is this president, where does he stand, and what is in his past and present. Reviewer: Melissa Zanot
