Editorial Reviews

School Library Journal

The authors, both active in Christian endeavors, have assembled a handbook encouraging women to see the "empty nest" period of their lives as an opportunity to spend more time with girlfriends or find a new purpose in life, even while dealing with the challenges of menopause, aging parents, and possibly a failed marriage. They address and provide coping tools for the usual concerns relating to career and extended family but hone in on the need for forgiveness in reestablishing ties with parents and siblings. Empty nesters, especially those with a Christian background, will find this book helpful. Recommended for libraries with a large Christian population.

This book is great if you believe God will just fix everything!

I was really looking for a book with concrete answers and ideas. Although the authors do offer suggestions, way too often they drop the ball and revert to the idea that God will fix us and make it better if we pray. I sense a feeling of subservience to the husband also, like the bible says. I would not have purchased this book had I known that, but if you are big into Christianity you will probably like it. Gotta go pray and see if I can pay my credit car bills!
